We had a wonderful day yesterday. It wasn't too hot, we saw a lot of people and made some sells. A few people loved the idea that there is a candle-maker living in this small town. LOL! Here's to the future and the growth of the business.
Mishaps
So after a small explosion of melted wax on the counter I realized that scraping the counter top wasn't going to be the best way of getting all the wax off. So, I scraped what I could and still had a film on there. I happened to grab the mail just before my explosion and in it were the newspaper circulars. I took and glanced through them for anything useful... nope nothing. spread a sheet or two out to cover the counter and grabbed my clothes iron. I used the warm setting (it's an old hand me down iron) and set to work on the counter. It came clean as a whistle. This little trick will also work with split wax on most surfaces... even some carpeting. Keep this in mind when you burn candles. Though we recommend putting them in or on candle safe dishes or containers. Hope this tip comes in handy.
