Description

Barbara Palmer, 1st Duchess of Cleveland (1640–1709), was the powerful and notorious chief mistress of King Charles II of England. Known for her striking beauty and fierce political influence, she bore the king five acknowledged children and held immense sway at court during the 1660s.
