Hello! I’ve just read the last episode of High Spirits Neoma it was amazing!! I’m on the edge of my seat and so excited to see what’s next. We will be waiting for you and cheering you on so much luck with everything!!

I originally drew a significantly inferior version of this comic in 2024. I didn't like how I ended it back then. I think this ending better encompasses my overall thought without me bluntly "telling" like I did in the 2024 version.

I'm comfortable. So much so that I've become stagnant for a long time. In December it will be 10 years since I graduated from college. My life is fine (I have a roof over my head and a job) but it's lacking....I don't feel like I'm thriving. It's more like I'm surviving.

Like grass under a deck, I've taken shelter in darkness, shielding myself from experiences with promises of potential pain. On the other side, I watch others stand in the light, get beaten by the rain and yet are okay; even try again another day. Romance, friendships, job opportunities, etc - I feel like I haven't really been living. I'm alive (gratefully) but I've confined myself and am unable to grow beyond my small pot. I think I know I need something different...in my life.

People who uproot their lives by moving to a new city, state, or country to start over—I give them props. It takes a lot of guts; bravery is something I lack when it comes to BIG financial decisions. But I'm learning from the thousands who have done it with faith that everything will work out. And I'm gaining the bravery to try something even if it's small to grow a little more.

Have you got a planned ending for high spirits neoma or are you making it up as you go?

The ending was set from the start! It's only how we get there that changes depending on how confident I am of writing a specific scene.

hii !! I just wanted to say that I LOOOVE hsn (I think i've been reading it since it came out) and if you have more infos about the lore, like where the story is based or when it's happening ? Even more than that, like how old are the characters, if you want !

The story takes place in the Yucatec Peninsula of Mexico. There's a couple times when the characters use Yucatec Maya phrases or bring up Maya mythology.

The setting in Episode 31 is also based on Progreso's Muelle de Chocolate, though it's not a 1:1 replica lol

Time wise, it's current era, anywhere from 2018-2025. I don't zone in too much on the year or any pop culture because I don't want to date the story. I'd like it to be relatable and readable twenty years from now.

Mateo is 17, Neoma is 18, Ian is 24/25

Idris is in his early 50s while Diana is in her mid 40s and Grandpa is in his late 70s
