My headcanon is that Sidious called him those last two names often, especially when he was a child. Maul tried very hard to convince himself that it didn't bother him, but his time on Lotho Minor brought those memories up again.

At the Orsis Academy, Kilindi Matako would undoubtedly be the only person who tried to help Maul in the classes where he struggled, and the only one who insisted on partnering with him for group projects.

Lil bit of lore:

Every fall Kilindi would have nightmares about the day she freed herself. She never told Trezza about them, as she was afraid he'd think she was ungrateful.

Talking to Maul was easier. He usually sat quietly and listened whenever she vented to him about the daily gossip and her struggles around the academy. It took her a little while to build up the courage to tell him about the nightmares though.

But, when she finally did, he listened,

told her that she would be okay,

and that he had them too.

Also, little artist note here: I made Maul's clothes gray instead of my usual black. I figured that maybe he wasn't completely consumed by the Dark Side when he was younger. However, as he got older, maybe even while he was still at the academy, he began to turn. Kilindi could usually tell when he was struggling with it. His brown eyes would be a sickly yellow, and he'd be more volatile and short tempered than usual. She didn't know that it was the Dark Side, only that, as the years went on, it was becoming more and more difficult to recognize her friend.

They're about 11/12 here. Just babies fr. So sad what happened to 'em ༼⁠;⁠´⁠༎ຶ⁠ ⁠۝ ⁠༎ຶ⁠༽

Just a quick lil thing to get this idea out of my head :) I'm trying to work on not letting my perfectionism get in the way of me creating things just for the fun of it. I almost didn't draw it. I've been really busy with Peachtober over on Insta, and I feel the need to conserve my creative energy lol. (And my poor arm. OUCH :/)

She doesn't care about it though, so it's not actually worth whatever Palps has in store for him when he finds out it's missing. Palps is gonna kill* him for blowing his cover (⁠(⁠(⁠;⁠ꏿ⁠_⁠ꏿ⁠;⁠)⁠)⁠)

*figuratively, but knowing ya boy Sheev it's going to be pretty close

I'll do blue eyes when I'm drawing, because I love the contrast. (Actually I use more of a pale sea foam green 🤓☝🏽 but who cares.) In my heart his eyes are brown though.

Kilindi teaches at the Academy between jobs. Trezza wants her to teach full time. It's a lot more stable than bounty hunting, he says, not to mention safer. After all, she does have to think about what's best for herself and her son. Shady bars and makeshift hideouts don't bother her much, but they're no place for a child.

Just goofin around, and working through my headcanon. :P
