Amaterasu

Kami du soleil dans le Shintô, selon le Kojiki qui relate sa légende, Amaterasu après un différent de trop avec son frère Susanoo kami des tempêtes, se retire dans une grotte céleste et prive le monde de sa lumière le plongeant dans les ténèbres et le chaos. Les innombrables kamis qui peuplent le monde, ne peuvent supporter cette situation, ils échafaudent un plan très élaboré pour tromper Amaterasu et la faire sortir de sa grotte. Quand ils y parviennent, la divinité piégée accepte de revenir éclairer le monde de sa lumière céleste à la seule condition que son frère soit bannis à jamais. On coupa la barbe et les ongles de Susanoo et on l’envoya sur terre parmi les mortels.

Ce résumé nécessaire et néanmoins peu représentatif de la légende tel qu’elle est écrite dans le Kojiki. Une multitude de détails permettent de trouver dans ces textes une philosophie, celle du Shintô, dont la base est de considérer toute chose comme vivant. Ainsi une forme de respect peut-être porté à un objet, un lieu, un animal, un arbre et même un humain…etc J’ai donc cheminé très naturellement dans cette philosophie, sans guide.

Ce travail est un parcours initiatique dans lequel j’ai lutté, découvert, observé, rêvé et créé avec la nature corse, en cherchant dans mes gestes le Shintô (la voie du divin).

Time is a Dimension, Time Paintings ( 24 Hour Photography ) by Fong Qi Wei

The basic structure of a landscape is present in every piece. But each panel or concentric layer shows a different slice of time, which is related to the adjacent panel/layer. The transition from daytime to night is gradual and noticeable in every piece, but would not be something you expect to see in a still image.

I am fascinated with the intersections. Intersections are places where boundaries break down, and these are areas where really interesting things happen. Boundaries are comfortable and static. Intersections are troublesome, but nevertheless worth exploring. In particular, I am interested in the intersections of the sciences, art and technology.
