“Everyone just looks so dead today,” Genesis noted, watching people pass by, dully. “I’m thinking about setting up a kissing booth to bring a little life back cause some of these people don’t look like they’ve gotten any action in years. Brilliant idea, right?”

“Even better. A complete stranger,” Cassandra said, leaning over to put her bottle down. She shrugged her shoulders and gave the woman a half smile. “Who could be happy being trapped in school? Long classes with boring teachers. Same shit, different day.” She grabbed a glass to pour some of her liquor for the girl before she could take the whole bottle. “Since I don’t know you, you don’t get the whole bottle. Maybe if we’re drunk enough in the next hour we’ll go down to the bar and get some more shots.”

Genesis gave a shrug. “It depends on the perspective you put it in. A lot of the professors here a so fine. And if you talk to the right people, you get all of the hook-ups for the best parties.” That was how Genesis was enjoying her time and ‘finding herself’. A grin formed on her lips as a glass was poured and passed her way. “Hey, I understand you not offering the whole bottle, who knows where I’ve been?” she joked before taking a sip of the liquor. “Shots, yes, I am always down for those.”

“I’m back…did you miss me?” Cassandra took a gulp of her vodka straight from the bottle. “Or did you want something? There’s plenty in the bottle to go around.” She set the bottle down on the table and kicked back in the chair, propping her feet up. She’d left the previous semester earlier and essentially disappeared. Now, she was back, but she was considering leaving again. Cassandra looked around to see that there was no one else in the room. “Talk quickly or leave me in peace.”

“It’s hard to miss someone you’ve never met,” Genesis began, taking a seat beside the other woman. If there was liquor going around, she wanted in. Classes were bullshit and boring as usual, so a drink would take off the edge. “Well I’m not going to turn down the offer of liquor if you’re offering, though I gotta admit, you don’t look all too happy to be back here at Clearbrook.” That said, she reached for the bottle before the other decided to retract her previous offer.

Finally, he was getting somewhere. At least she was done with using school as an excuse. As far as excuses go, it was probably the worst one he’d ever had used on him. He noted the change in her body language, and for a brief moment he wondered what he’d said to cause it. But it was brief, and the thought left as soon as it’d come. Theo shook his head as she started to reject his offer. “Sweetheart, I’m worth millions of dollars, I think I can handle buying you something nice for a date. Besides, you’re not taking it, I’m offering it, and I trust you not to put me in debt even if you did go overboard. Just take the card, hell you can buy a whole new wardrobe, I don’t care. But you’ve got to have something to wear.”

Even after he explained that he had more than plenty enough money to support her going crazy, she stared down at the card. She couldn’t just take this, could she? A pang of guilt hit her. “...” Her eyes shifted to the Brightfeather as her face remained blank. “Okay, pero...they’re going to think I stole from you I-I mean clearly I’m not a famous actor.” That was excuse enough right there. After all, there was no way he wanted to drag her around shopping, right? Sure she would love to go on a date with him, but she did not want to take his money.

Rafael checks his pockets first, because people put cells in there– and of course, he didn’t put it there. He had to leave it around somewhere and forget about it, just few moments after promising that he wouldn’t lose it again. The whole situation is nearly comical, Rafael starts to break into a laughter. When someone asks him what’s wrong, he turns around, smiling almost cheerfully. “I lost my cell, again!” He says with a huge grin, his arms wide open as if he achieved his lifelong dream. “And I just got a new one.”

The reaction the man gave confused Genesis. It was as if he didn’t care! How was she going to rattle his cage if he didn’t have one to rattle? “You sound...excited about that. Does this happen often? How do you have money for a new phone?”

It was almost cute how flustered she was getting over the idea of a date with him, but he wasn’t about to let that show. Theo shrugged a shoulder as a response. “Yeah, why not? Besides, if I get to be with someone as pretty as you the whole time, I don’t think it’d be a complete waste of my time, even if school is pretty boring.” He looked her over critically before nodding. “That certainly will not do. I’d say you could borrow some of my sister’s clothes from her last visit, but she’s a toothpick, so it doesn’t look like that’s an option.” He pursed his lips in thought for a moment before reaching into his wallet and pulling out a shiny black card and offering it to her. “Go buy yourself something nice.”

Genesis began giggling and nodded. Theodore was a Brightfeather, from what she knew, and that meant he had to be smart right? After all, she was just taking the mandatory required classes while she figured things out (which she really needed to do). “Hehe, okay, a-as long as you don’t mind.” When he made the comment, about her figure, Genesis glanced down at herself before her arms crossed her chest in an insecure manner and her face fell. But rather than lashing out like she normally would, she simply took it. “O-oh, no, no I couldn’t. I-I mean you hardly know me, I can’t just take your hard earned money! That would be awful of me to do!”

Theo was about to set a time for the dinner date when she started to turn it down for schoolwork of all things. The fae tilted his head a bit as she continued to ramble, letting her finish before speaking again. “I get that…but I’ve–unfortunately–read just about every book in the library and have been taking far more classes than necessary since getting here that maybe I can help you catch up on things,” he paused, “Tomorrow. Tonight, I think you should be allowed to say goodbye to fun before you buckle down. Don’t you think?” He winked. “I promise I’ll make it worth your time.”

Was she really hearing this right now?! Did Theodore Warren- THE Theodore Warren want to go on a date with her? And on top of that he was offering to tutor her just so they could spend the night together. “Uh - I, oh, uh...” she froze. What should she say? Why wouldn’t her tongue work? “S-So you’ll seriously help me catch up and we can go out for dinner, cause that sounds absolutely perfect, a-and as long as I’m being responsible than I could justify going out. I - I just, oh my, I - I don’t know if I even have anything that would be appropriate to wear out with you.”

Theo smirked at Genesis as she got all flustered over his compliment. Her thanks was stumbled over, making him feel more accomplished than before. It seemed he still had it, the celebrity status hadn’t rubbed off on everyone. “No problem, boo,” he said in the same flirty tone, just enough that it seemed like he wasn’t completely dismissing her. “How about you go out with me tonight? We’ll go for dinner and maybe a few drinks. Show you a real good time.”

As Theo continued moving towards Genesis, she got more and more flustered. She began giggling nervously as he called her ‘boo’. This was happening. This was legit happening, but her brain couldn’t properly process it and spit back out flirty comments. “Oh my god, oh wow, I’d love too...” but just as she was fangirling over the offer, she paused. “Oh but I shouldn’t. I-I mean nothing against you, cause wow, but I’ve got so much catching up to do on schoolwork and all...”

With his new suit on he finally felt like himself, even if these clothes were a far cry from some of the true fancy things he could wear if he was home. He turned to the side and saw the spectacle made by the girl as she fell down. It honestly had been hard to ignore. One of the books landed just a couple of feet away from him so he picked it up and handed it over to her. “You should see where you’re going” the man stated, and not in the friendly ‘be careful’ way. His words were clearly more along the lines of ‘that was embarrassing’.

Quickly, Genesis scrambled to her feet to begin collecting all of the books that had been strewn across the stairs. When the well dressed man approached her, her face turned stark red. She was well aware that what she did was embarrassing and his tone did not help in the slightest. “I-I know I’m such a clutz sometimes.” She dusted off her now scraped up knees a bit and then took the book he offered to her. “T-Thank you for that, and, erhm, that suit looks nice,” she practically whispered the latter half as she stacked the books back up in her arms.

“Is this really what I usually wear?” he asked himself. Theo rummaged through his closet, a look of disgust on his face becoming more and more obvious as he did so. It was all just so boring. He had more money than half the people here could even imagine, and he was just letting it sit there in his account while he wore clothes barely better than rags. No wonder he couldn’t keep a girlfriend. Theo pulled on the least offensive clothes, pulling them from the recesses of his closet usually reserved for special hollywood events and parties and adjusted his blazer before heading out. It was a nice day out, and Theo was heading to Lothering for the day. He was heading for the Huntsman, who said it was too early to start drinking? It’s never too early to have fun. He was just turning onto the strip toward the bar when someone caught his eye, and he let out a low whistle. “Damn girl, where have you been hiding? You are so beautiful.“

Genesis had just been wandering around Lothering after getting out of class. There were so many hidden gems that were perfect to study and focus, why had she never sought out somewhere to study before? Just as she was looking at a park area, she noticed the actor guy from the camping trip wandering around. Theodore Warren. And then he noticed her, and low whistled. The woman glanced around before pointing at herself. “M-Me?” She went wide eyed and cheeks went deep red. “Oh, pfff, ha, I just, pff, no, no, not at- I mean.” Suddenly she burst out awkwardly laughing. “Ha, ha, t-thanks...”

Something was not right about the sad excuse for an outfit that he was wearing. Those discolored cheap rags were not the sort of clothes a Caulfield should ever wear in public. He was a member of one of the most distinguised families in Wales and he had to look the part. Making use of his savings, the fae bought an decent suit in Lothering. “Much better” he muttered to himself as he adjusted the cufflinks of his shirt, calmly strolling back into the academy with the poise of the privileged socialite that he was.

Genesis had been walking out from the bookstore with a giant stack of books that she had been neglecting to buy the whole semester for class. There was so much studying to catch up on. A semester in and she was so behind. However, as she was walking down some of the Lothering stairs, she glanced to the side to see a very attractive man strutting in a suit. And she glanced again...and once more before she lost her step and went tumbling down the stairs as her books went flying.
