why does tumblr look different every two weeks but none of the essential features get fixed or worked on. we've been asking for a way to search in our likes for ten years. there are still no functional group chats. blog search is still only showing half the posts with the searched word in it. you still cant block a person from interacting with your sideblogs and you still cant block someone completely if theyre using a sideblog. you cant even send an ask from a sideblog. oh but thank goddddd the buttons are two pixels closer now and the notes bubble looks uglier with every update i dont know what i wouldve done without rounded post edges

I mean I don't necessarily have one big story, but the one I'm thinking about right now pertains to my little sitcom AU I've been imagining! I wrote a lot so it's all under a readmore lmao
Basically, Iyami is opening up an apartment complex, but due to a mixup with the dates I arrive in Japan six months early. Instead of losing out on my prospective rent, he asks the Matsuno family to take me in until the building is ready-- and in exchange, their sons will get six months rent free*! (*Not each, total.) So even though there's really not any room, I end up staying with the Matsuno family for a few months.
I think the brothers are initially cold to me; I'm a weird freak outsider in their little bubble. Five of them scramble to make me feel welcome and to not let me see them as freaks-- but Osomatsu doesn't care. And I don't, either; they're sextuplets, they're gonna be freaks. It's weirder that they're treating me so politely.
But I think I get through to Choromatsu first; I think we'd make fast friends because we have a lot of the same interests. I'm always on the lookout for adventure or a new thing to do, but I hate doing things alone-- so I'd have him take me to all his favourite idol shows, conventions, whatever.
The rest of them fall like dominoes: Ichimatsu loves my cats (I've got three!! And they're the sweetest), and I laugh at all of Jyushimatsu's gags, and I love Karamatsu's theatrics, and tbh I think Todomatsu remains a bit annoyed with me but he's not going to strike out against his brothers.
The thing with this sitcom AU is that there's a lot of "will they, won't they" to it. So Osomatsu & I initially don't get along-- and not in any high-level dramatic way, because I'm extremely good at diffusing situations. It's one where he thinks I'm pretentious, he thinks that I think that I'm better than him and his brothers. Which is weird for him, because he's usually so good at meeting people where they are and not judging-- but he's so used to being judged that my lack of response to his lot in life (being an adult NEET and a virgin) just seems like I'm holding my tongue. And this "dishonesty" would piss him off, I think.
But gradually, he'd get to know me better. I failed high school, haven't had a partner in years, want to be a musician. And I think he'd come to realize that I don't think I'm better than anyone-- that I don't think anyone is better than anyone else. And I like to think that he doesn't feel the need to perform Osomatsu as it were, but that he can just be himself free of any expectations other people have of him.
And he'd unlock that in me, too-- I like to think he'd be able to help me find the connections between my identity and performed personality; that I, too, can just be free of the expectations other people have of me.

I do!! I self-ship with Osomatsu <3 I don't necessarily know how to go on, but like. When I first started this blog, I self-shipped with Todomatsu; but as I grew up, I actually ended up seeing a lot of myself in Osomatsu, instead. A lot of the bad things, for sure, but a lot of good qualities I aspire to embody. There's a lot of stuff we have in common, too

Okaaaay... btw can I borrow $40 for the cab and your food and also my food and do you think they'd let me have a beer in the waiting room [They don't. He also "forgets" your laptop because he wants to hang out]
Karamatsu: What happened?! Do not fear, my darling! I'll bring you anything you need! Don't you worry about the price and don't you lift a finger! [He can't afford the cab fare & walks. Your food is cold by the time he gets here]
Choromatsu: Huh? How could this happen? ...Ah, misjudged the curb because it was dark? I suppose that could happen to anyone. I'll be there in ten minutes! Your laptop and fast food? Got it! [He's 15 minutes later than he said he'd be, but he did not let you down!]
Ichimatsu: ...Okay. [After a real quick panic attack he makes it to the hospital, with no laptop and no food, and he's short of conversation but he holds your hand the whole time]
Jyushimatsu: YEAH? OH NO!!! I'LL BE RIGHT THERE [He shows up empty-handed and spends the rest of the visit leaving & coming back with various things that are not the food you requested nor your laptop, but you're very amused by it all even though you wish he'd leave the food he does bring]
Todomatsu: Oh no baby, how could this happen? Aww you're such a klutz, you know that? I'll be there soon! [Shows up an hour later with food and your laptop, and tbh he'd probably leave unless you specifically asked him to stay]
Matsuno brothers when it's been four hours since you got here and you just need someone to tell you that you sprained your ankle so you can get on with your life
Osomatsu: [Gets up to harass the receptionist] Hey Ms. Receptionist!!!! How long are we gonna be here? My partner and I have a lot of screwing to do while they're on bedrest so we've gotta get outta here ASAP. What do you mean you don't know? There's only three people here! C'monnnn I know you can do better than that. Let them in!!! Go get the doctor I'm so bored I'm gonna diiiiiie. THERE'S your emergency!
Karamatsu: Don't worry, my dear, I'm sure we'll be seen soon. Can I talk to the receptionist? Ah, of course.... of course I can do that..... anything for you.... [He goes and talks to them, then comes back to sit down. "Well?" you ask.] They aren't sure.
Choromatsu: This is really ridiculous! Honestly... What kind of hospital is this? Making us wait four hours! They should be ashamed. You should have been seen by now, it's so inconsiderate of them not to say anything to you!
Ichimatsu: [He's spent most of this time quiet, a bit tense. You know you're not injured all that badly and making sure he doesn't freak out in the hospital lobby helps distract from the pain. It's one of those situations where it's actually better to not be freaking out, you know?]
Jyushimatsu: [After leaving and coming back so many times, you've both finally gotten bored, so you're watching him practice his swing in the lobby. It passes the time. Twice now someone has told him to knock it off, but then they leave so he just goes right back to it.]
Todomatsu: [Texting you, because he did leave] What do you mean you're still there? Why? Is there something seriously wrong with you? ... They really just left you there?! That's so inconsiderate! Anyways in honor of me flying to visit my parents in NB I'm thinking about the episode (in my sitcom AU) where I have to take Osomatsu on a flight to meet my parents. What a fun trip that would be
