Hey Mod, you haven't been active here in a long time. I don't know your main so i don't know if you've been active there, so this is more so a check in: are you okay? It's totally fine if you've lost interest or something, just double checking that you're alive, cause you're cool.

I would totally LOVE to come back to Otaku, I would. But to make a long story short, the art was taking up a LOT of my time which made it...not fun anymore, keeping up with other people’s plots wore down my own enthusiasm, AND some personal stuff went down in my family about the time I hit that original hiatus. 

And it didn’t come back afterwards. 

Sometime in the future, I WOULD like to go back to Otaku. Probably reboot the whole thing and start from scratch when I can. But right now, and for a while, I haven’t been in a spot where I can easily see myself doing that. And I feel like you guys deserve me at my best, not at a place where I just feel OBLIGATED to do...SOMETHING. This isn’t my job, and it takes enough work that it isn’t really a hobby anymore, either. 

I appreciate your concern. And I’m extremely sorry I haven’t been able to do anything here.

(( SAM’s discomfort with the blatantly female Angaran AI also tells me this: The supercomputer literally in Ryder’s head is so so gay. He’s referred to exclusively with male pronouns, chose a male voice, approves of male pronouns for himself, and is extremely uncomfortable with female AIs. Also, on Kadara, SAM is the one who constantly brings up talking to Reyes about stuff. 

Like, I like him too, but I think SAM has some weird huge crush on the smuggler king of Kadara. It’s like Ryder dating/having sex with Reyes is the closest SAM will ever get to indulging in his own huge gay crush. 

So this just in: The not-Squip supercomputer in your head in Mass Effect Andromeda is totes magoats a gay Englishman who likes bad boys. ))

(( For the sake of giving you any content until the event, and to also let you know what I’ve been doing lately....

it’s Mass Effect Andromeda.

But see, here’s the thing that I was caught on just now: SAM is a supercomputer AI who can connect to pretty much anything, even alien technology no one’s been able to decipher for thousands of years, using quantum mechanics.

Do you see what I’m saying, guys?

SAM is a Squip.

For extra exploration of SAM having a personality all his own, even, fulfil the Angaran AI’s request and have her transported to SAM node. She keeps telling him to destroy all of humanity and he has to keep telling her no, then COMPLAINS to Ryder because ‘RYDER WHY DID YOU DO THIS PLZ NO SHE’S HORRIBLE AND I THINK SHE’S FLIRTING WITH ME’. Meanwhile my Summer Ryder’s always been like sitting back and laughing like ‘I ship it.’

“Ryder no.”

There should be more things of people talking about this. SAM is a squip. A polite one, capable of re-engineering the capabilities of Ryder’s body, but still basically a squip. He’s just a combat capable squip, is all. Imagine if the military had squips-could they manage something like SAM-lite?

Just....there’s been some stuff, personally, in the family, and I’ve been trying to get myself back on top of things, but I’ve just been tired lately. I’m really super sorry to anyone who’s been waiting for me to post the conclusion of the event, I really am. I just-I can’t write or draw lately. At all. And I don’t know why....

I’m hoping, like in Kiki’s Delivery Service, it’ll pass. That’s it’s a natural period of just inactivity of my creativity. Those happen. And then I’ll be back to doing what I love again. I hope.
