Cosplay is welcome but not mandatory, please no large props and if you have bike horns don't honk them near people cause they can damage hearing.

Picnic / Casual Photoshoot @ The Arboretum

Time & Date: Saturday June 21st at 12:30pm

Where: We're meeting at Dow's Lake (the big white building) and then we're gonna move to The Aboretum

What: Cosplay picnic / photoshoot. Bring snacks to share and no peanuts please!

Cosplay?: Totes encouraged but dress for the weather. No large props please!

Description: 

The weather is finally getting nice so we should totally go hang out somewhere scenic and take cosplay pics. We're going to meet at Dow's Lake (by the building where the Mexicali Rosa's was, that big white one) and then migrate to the arboretum because it's gorgeous and perfect for photo taking. Cosplay is NOT mandatory but super welcome! just no large props, please.

HEY OHS. IF YOU WANT PROMSTUCK TO RUN YOU REALLY NEED TO PREODER SOON. BECAUSE RIGHT NOW WE HAVE 8 PREORDERS AND IT TAKES A LOT MORE THEN THAT TO RUN A DANCE.

Real talk though last year we had over 70 attendees. out of those 70 only 25 were preorders. GUYS the mods are not made of cash. We cannot front the entire budget and then get repaid the day of. We don't have that kind of money. You guys asked for a second promstuck. We answered and ran it again.

But if you want it to happen we NEED THE PRE-ORDERS TO RUN.

To put this in perspective, at the time of writing we have 8 preorders. That's 200$. That's about enough to pay the venue and only the venue. We still need money for decorations, food, paying our DJ, and equipment.

Con Season PSA: Defending Yourself from Gropey Douchecanoes

Hey everyone, seeing as it's con season...it's con PSA time. This one goes out especially to our cosplayers out there, as a reminder of the things you don't have to put up with at a con!

First and foremost- you are never obligated to let anyone take your picture! In a hurry? Eating? Exhausted? Need a bathroom? Just plain skeeved out by the person asking? You are allowed to tell them NO! Are they pressing the issue? Report them to con security. Tell them you are reporting them to con security. You did not surrender your right to be treated like a human being by putting on that costume.

On the previous note- you're not obligated to do shippy shots or fanservice if you don't want to. If they really, really want to see those characters together, there is this magical realm called 'the internet' for them to get their jollies from. Don't do anything you're not comfortable with. You never even have to say yes to 'Can I take a photo with you?'

And that brings us to the sexual harassment portion of this PSA. This does not get directly addressed enough.

So you're at con, minding your own business, lookin' fab, having fun! And then you feel it. A hand where a hand does not belong. Someone has decided their gropefest trumps your funtimes. And many a time they will get away with it because freezing up is the pretty natural reaction here.

But you are in a con hall with several other thousand people to act as witnesses. So now? It's time to make a scene, folks. Grab the offending hand, yell, make a scene, attract attention. Make other people see that jerk's face. Don't be too scared- there's a hundred witnesses in view and a thousand in earshot. Pick a bystander and tell them to get con staff. Pick someone else and tell them to snap a pic. Because if this jerk has done it to you, they've done it to others and will continue to do it all weekend long. I don't care if you're cosplaying accurate reproductions of Kill La Kill characters, no outfit or costume is an invitation to touching without permission.

If people are saying gross things to you because of your cosplay? Tell them off. Tell them they're gross. Call them out on bullshit if you can.

Cosplay is not consent, not to touching and not to lewd commentary.

PROMSTUCK UPDATE

Hey guys, as a reminder we really really need these preorders for promstuck to do things like pay the venue and DJand also do things like get food and decorations! So the price is going to increase 5$ after july 4th and at the door. SO GET YOUR TICKETS EARLY FOLKS! It's worth noting that for promstuck, our venue is confirmed so this is for sure happening. But the more preorders we have the bigger and better this event will be!

PROMSTUCK: LAND OF CLOCKWORK AND CROWBARS

What: Cosplay prom!

Cost: 25$ Tickets are availible for pre-purchase at eventbrite or can be payed for in cash at some of our meets, starting with 4/13!

Cosplay: Full cosplay friendly event. Gray paint, horns, makeup, fancy clothes, it's all allowed! Just please don't bring large props.

FULL EVENT DESCRIPTION UNDER THE CUT

Promstuck is back for a second year of awesome! This year's theme is "The Midnight Crew" and you'll be in for a night of cosplay and dancing. Snacks and drinks will be provided as well!  This event is 100% full cosplay friendly. You can bring out the gray paint, the horns and the formal wear for this one. The only thing we ask you leave at home is large props. The event is a dance, so come in your finest and have a  If you want to pay in cash we will also be selling tickets at events (the first being our 4/13 meet).For more info on our other events check out our Facebook or Tumblr. For the event, please print out your Eventbrite ticket and bring it with you. The ticket is your proof of payment. Barstuck: The Drinkening (Ages 19+)

Yo we're having homestuck bar night for the 19+ crowd on 4/12! COme out and join for drinks and conversation.

Time: April 12th at 7:00pm

Place: Patty Boland's at 101 Clarence Street

Notes:  Strictly 19+ and minimal cosplay due to other potentially drunk normals. Please rsvp on the event page, or if you do not have facebook send the OHS tumblr a message saying you're coming or may be coming. 

Description: Another night of drinks and conversation for the 19+ crowd. Now at a location we should actually be able to get tables at. Ages 19 and up only, for obvious reasons.

This is a minimal cosplay event, as you would expect when going into a building full of potentially drunk people.
