You are freaking out, not panic attack bad but enough that you can’t sit still.

Something is wrong, you know something is wrong, something is gonna go wrong but you can’t tell what it is and that’s stressing you out even more.

So now you are just pacing back and forth in your room to music trying to distract your brain from whatever threat may or may not exist.

Then everything gets dark— like a dark red. Kinda like a thick blind fold being placed over your eyes that’s thin enough to let through some light. You can also feel the warmth of someone standing chest to back with you.

You turn around to be met with a hard tattooed chest and as you look up you could see Enjin’s grinning face as he pulls out his collar to look inside his shirt— aka at you.

“..hello”

“Heya baby doll, whatcha dooooin’?”

“Stressing”

“About what?”

You lay your face flat against his chest almost muffling your speech.

Jabber thoughts on his freaky masochist brain

Just cuz someone is a masochist doesn’t mean that they don’t like other feelings, right?And we all know this freak likes being beat on until he busts in his pants but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t like other over sensory feelings.

I think Jabber would be heavy into anything that makes his body do something he can’t control. So like the pain is something he can’t control and it releases funky chemicals in his brain.

So he would probably like having his partner talk slow in his ears until he gets those freaky shivers up his spine that make him hold onto you tighter.

”You all did so well today!” You tell the kids as you hand out a water bottle for each of them out of the car. They had all worked so hard today with the trash beasts that were trying to leave the polluted zones and now they were all beat.

”Thanks Y/N- eugh..”

”Sweetheart you good?”

”Yeah just a tinsy bit nauseous from being thrown around..”

”Don’t worry though, we won’t move for a little bit so all you guys can chill out for a bit”

The three teenagers all went to sit in the car for a bit where they all promptly passed out on each other.

“Awww look they completely knocked out” Enjin says as he draped himself over your shoulders. Both his arms rested on your shoulders and his head on top of yours.

“Yeah they did well today”

“What about me?” Enjin grips your arms and turns you to the side slightly so he can peak in on your vision in a way you could see him.

“You did all of that while staying handsome”

The sunlight from your window woke Zanka up softly. Just the light reminding him that he has a new day ahead him.

After all the teasing and bullshit he went through from the other cleaners until he confessed.

You walk into the hall— hand in hand— to see some cleaners eating. Right now it was only Riyo, Enjin and Tamsy eating so the others were most likely already gone or haven’t woken up yet.

”Morning love birds!” Enjin says as he wiggles his eyebrows. He thinks it’s absolutely adorable and hilarious that prissy little proper Zanka finally caved and started sleeping in his girls bed.

You and your partner went off and loaded a plate each before you sat down with the three others, interrupting the conversation Tamsy and Riyo had about long hair care to talk about the mission for today.

“Alright listen up now, you guys got a lot today and I can’t come with you so Tamsy is gonna go in my place”

“What do you mean with ‘a lot’ exactly?”

“Apparently outside of junk city they have seen like a ‘gazillion big trash beasts!’”

“How many calls have we gotten in?”

The rest of the breakfast between you all was completely normal. Riyo talking loudly, Enjin talking louder, Tamsy listening, Zanka getting teased, you making fun of Enjin— the complete ecosystem of interaction!

Zanka immediately starts getting embarrassed even though he doesn’t let go of you.

You all stepped out of the car, you, Tamsy, Zanka, Riyo, Gris, Follo and Tomme. In front of you there was like 20 trash beasts, all ginormous.

“What the hell are so many trash beasts doing outside of no man’s land??”

“Something could have lead them out here?” Tomme says behind everyone.

“Yeah but what could get them this far?

“Either way we don’t have time to think about that, let’s get to cleaning”

Then the fighting started and even though there were so many trash beasts together since there were so many of you it didn’t take that long until you managed to get through all of them without major harm. Tamsy would trap them while you, Zanka and Riyo would slash through them.

When everything was over the whole team sat together by the car looking over at the trash piles that built up from the dead beasts.

“I still don’t get it, why would so many of them just chill out here?” Zanka says sporting a frown on his face. “It just doesn’t make sense”

“Hey” You put your hand on his shoulder. “We will make the report to Semiu and make sure boss knows about it too. He should at least have a hint on why this is going on”

“Yeah, Y/N is right no use for us to grumble about it!”

“Whatever-“ Then his bracelet rings and he taps to answer it.

When Zanka got the call from Enjin we found out that he apparently found a giver sphererite! And he was gonna become a cleaner. So as the rest of the team took the car back to HQ, Me, Zanka and Riyo went to the city where we first found Enjin’s car.

“Guys imma just chill out here until you all are done”

“Go ahead, we are going out to find this kid”

You hold onto Zankas arm as you walk into the city together. Junk city isn’t the best place but there is definitely worse, it’s cramped and the houses are super close together with like a billion tiny alleys to get lost in.

“What do you think the Sphererite will be like?”

After you had gotten your bag filled with the the salty and spicy snacks you two loved, you walked toward the entrance of the city so you could catch the others on their way out. But then you got a call on you collar.

After a good like 15 minutes you and Enjin finall manage to calm down with the occasional giggle between you two if you look at each other a lil too long (but honestly keep your eyes on the fucking road enjin).

You had been sent out on a solo mission for the rest of the day getting rid of some minor trash beasts but as you got back to HQ again you saw the party going on.

People drinking, eating and painting on the walls.

You went to grab a plate and stacked that bitch since you didn’t have time for lunch today. As you were looking for a table you found Rudo sitting by himself.

“Hey Rudo” His head lifts up from the table to see you sitting down infront of him.

Then you two got a second of silence as you ate a potato chip.

You were sitting in a hotel room in the middle of a junk city you have never been in. It was a little solo vaycay away from everyone so you could relax. Just you and your mind alone for a full weekend.

So you got up and walked into the shower to wash off all the grim and dirt of your body. A warm shower wasn’t something you have allowed yourself in so long since you only had time to shock yourself with a cold one in the morning to wake up.

Afterwards you wrapped yourself in a white robe and let your wet hair soak on the shoulders. Now all that’s left was to eat the snacks you bought and read your book until you fell asleep.

But then you hear something move down the hall from the bathroom. The hotel room was only a little hallway into the a master bedroom so there is no doubt if someone’s footsteps are being heard.

You knock off the lights in the bathroom and open the door to the rest of the room. Slowly you step out— hearing the struggles of whoever is getting in through the window and trying to close it. You pick up your book from the side table and move up behind them.

Then they turn around quickly and with pure reflex you hit them as hard as you can in the head with the thick story in your hands. They fall to the ground with a heavy thud.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again.

Zanka is a nice guy but he is also and asshole. I think he would treat his partner as kindly and at his most gentle capacity possible.

He has never really been “taken care of” by someone he cared so much about before, like Riyo and Enjin found him and Enjin was his idol but you were so much more than that.

He got giddy thinking about you and you had this way of twisting things he saw as bad into something he could be proud of.

Like how you were all in the car back from a mission, it was Gris driving, you in the passenger seat with Zanka, tomme and follo in the back. Usually you two would sit together but the three latter were a lot more tired than you and Gris so you two chatted in the front.

When Zanka was nodding of against the car window ready to pass out he hears you say something that stuck with him.

“I don’t get the shame with scars and that like I have so many from fights and missions and I am PROUD! Besides everyone with scars are hotter”

“It’s like a power thing, like I almost died and I’m still here” Gris adds onto it with his own enthusiasm.

“You get me dude!”

And after that Zanka didn’t feel as much shame when he had to go to the infirmary. He loved you and the way you see things so if you believe that scars are positive then they have to be! So now if he ever got a scar after a mission he is being a lil freaky with it.

Now here comes a full three times Zanka realizes he won in life!

1. He was in the dining hall and there were surprisingly a lot of cleaners in there eating their last meal of the night. Enjin, Gris and Bro were all being loud and laughing at the end of a long table while scarfing down their food, Riyo and semiu were chatting as they loaded up their plates and Remlin was spending the night with the other kids so they, Rudo, Guita, dear and Amo were sitting together and screaming like the adults taking care of them.

He was waiting for you to show up, even if you went to talk to the girls or the kids or throw in a comment with the older guys. Zanka wanted to make sure you were eating before he started so if he noticed you forgot to go eat he could go fetch you without stopping his meal time straight away.

Then a plates clatters next to him.

“Hm?” A little kiss makes it onto his cheek making him blush immediately.

“Hey babe, how has today been treating you?”

Okey now you guys celebrated your one year anniversary like 3 weeks ago, statistically and arguably he should not feel giddy you say next to him. AND HE DOES NOT.

But you holding his hand across the table does.

“Rudo ‘s bein’ a pain in my ass-“

You guys were on your way to a mission and it was gonna be a long ass drive. About 2 hours so enjin and Gris agreed, let everyone chill out and sleep the first safer hour but the second Enjin will drive to keep everyone awake.

So as you all make your way to the car Zanka opened the door and jumped in to take the middle seat so you could have window.

“Actually babe can I sit middle?” Which made him question why because you always wanted to look out the window to mission but he jumps out and lets you climb in.

“Sure but I thought you liked looking out the window?”

“Nah I like leaning against the window.” Zanka jumps in after you as you both fastened you seat belts “but I sleep better if I lean on you anyways, the glass hurts after a while”

Then you leaned on his shoulder and he could hear Enjin and Gris snickering at him but like-

He did NOT care.

When there are rainstorms instead of trash storms it was actually peaceful. People could easily get better drinking water and the few places of green could bloom a bit stronger.

And again HE KNOWS HE IS BEING RIDICULOUS BUT LET HIM BE, every time it would rain at night you would run over to his room if you weren’t already there because you claimed “rain cuddles hit different”. So now every time he hears the rain he waits up until you notice, because it like a you want it and he is happy to supply but like- like.. like it’s- you that wants it the most.

Besides it’s one of the quiet reminders that you will seek him out for comfort and gawd DAMN IT he loves to be wanted by you!

But it’s getting kinda late and you haven’t show up yet so either you weren’t in the mood (not possible) or you fell asleep before it started (very possible). So he kinda gave up and fixed his bedding to tuck himself in and fall asleep- a bit disappointed but eh you can’t win em all.

You were stuck with Enjin and the kid that refused to move. Like he had just been sitting in his corner for a good 10 minutes just looking at you two.

”..Im gonna go and see if i can find the others”

As you turn around you could hear how the guy that was hiding started screaming after you and how you couldn’t leave. But like let’s be honest Enjin can deal with him, the guy is 17 and looks 12, not your problem.

But your actual problem is finding everyone else especially Zanka. You were the one who had to care for him after his last fight with Jabber and even though you don’t know if they ended up together, there is a good chance Jabber would seek him out.

So now you are walking around the tunnels of where ever the fuck you where hearing struggles through the walls and the occasional rattle of the place (probably dear getting pissed off) until you hear crazy laughter.

Now you know that’s Zanka’s voice but Zanka doesn’t laugh like that. You start running in the direction you hear him from, jumping over bumps and trash in the way to get to him as fast as possible. Then when you finally find him you see him laying on the floor with a raider laying next to him, both laughing?

”Zanks’.. like really?” You say confused at the sight of your boyfriend having what looks like a fun trip with this random guy.

The laughter stops from them both but as Zanka doesn’t move, the stranger jumps up on his feet.

”lil late to the party, babe”

You raise your jinki and activate it.

”Are you Jabber..?”

After that the guy starts giggling and jumping on his feet.

”OOOOHH YA KNOW ME?? My man here must’ve told ya-” he kicks Zanka in the shoulder. ”So you two really a thing?”

The question halts you for a bit, why tf would he care? Psychopath in the flesh.

“Yeah?.. Why- WHY DO YOU CARE??!”

He activates his mankira again and drags the blades across his face, barely grazing it. Jabber jumps on top of Zanka making the man on the floor cough up blood and walks towards you.

“So you must really hate me then, huh? HIHI I CAN SEE IT ON YA! OH YOU JUST WANNA RIP ME TO PIECES!!”

He lunged at you with his claws ready to swing at you. But his jinki doesn’t connect to you instead you get behind him and slam him into the floor making his claws lodge into the ground deep enough that he struggles to get them out.

He turns around and gets chopped in the throat and slashed across his chest by your jinki making him fall back.

“You fast as shit! Damn!”

The fight between you goes on for a while, him slashing at you, missing, you hitting him, he falls, he makes some comment on how hard he is, you want to throw up. He might have nicked you once or twice but he wasn’t fast enough to actually cause damage or poison you. Then it all abruptly ends with a gun shot and jabber falling to the ground.

“Sorry I was so late” Riyo shows up walking into the room/corner you guys were fighting.

“Don’t worry girl, I didn’t know how to hurt him without him busting a nut at me so I was kinda stuck” You walk away to grab Zanka and hoist him up with his arm around your shoulder before picking him up bridal style.

“..eeuuugghh…”

“I know baby, I know..” You say as he leans his head against your shoulder. His assistaff makes it into his back holder to make sure you don’t lose it

“Let’s get out of here, this place is so fucking creepy”

As you follow Riyo out you walk passed Jabbers body laying on the ground laughing quietly to himself. He looks up to you ready for you to try and hurt him or kill him OR SOMETHING. But you just look down at him, smile and walk away.

“..tch.. man come on..”

The day after you are sitting with Zanka in the the HQs hospital room. He was obviously down and didn’t really wanna talk to anyone but the self deprecation was so prominent on his features you had to say something.

“Zanki, stop with whatever is going on in your head, you know it’s not gonna fix anything” You grab his hand.

“I know I know it’s just..”

“Just what?”

He finally shifted his gaze to you. “I want to be strong enough to protect you but you had to come and save ME.. a good boyfriend shouldn’t need his partner to come a carry him like a baby outta danger”

“Oh baby..” You shift into the bed to be closer to him and to hold his face with your other hand that he eventually leans into. “We are both cleaners, we are supposed to be strong together. I need to be able to help you just as much as you help me. Like what am I supposed to do if I get ambushed by a herd? Not much, that where I need you and people like Jabber is where you need me”

You bring is face closer to yours and kiss him slowly and gently. “That’s why we work so great together <3”

His smile melts into his face as he holds your hand closer to his cheek. “You’re right, but I promise I’ll get stronger and you won’t have to do all the lifting yourself again”

You lean in and kiss his forehead. “That’s what I like to hear-“

then your collar rings. “Oh sorry love”

“Nah don’t worry, go on”

You answer with a tap “Hello?”

And as these two hold onto your legs as koalas laughing and giggling in between themselves at your tired expression you finally say.

Which results in dramatic gasps from both of them as they lean back from your legs while still holding on.
