Had a brilliant dream last night where Lego had made a series of OUAT shorts. The cast did the voices for their Lego counter-parts and we got behind the scenes footage of Robert Carlyle getting all excited about his Lego figure, and the whole cast trying to build the library and Granny’s Lego sets, which for some reason were as complicated as the Death Star. There was even a bit in one of the shorts where Rumple had to get the instructions out so he could build Belle’s library, with lots of impish muttering that the box was lying when it said ‘Fun for ages 3 to 300′

Closing Time- Part 31

Walking away from Bae was the hardest thing Gold had ever done.  He and his son had talked for hours, but it wasn’t enough, not when they had twenty-five years of catching up to do.  

Tomorrow, Bae would return to Tallahassee, but he’d promised to visit again soon, bringing Emma with him next time.  Somehow, after everything, Gold had redeemed himself enough that Bae was willing to allow him a place in his new life.

The euphoria at being reunited with his son lasted until Gold stepped off the cabin’s front porch and abruptly realized that it was fully dark outside.  

Oh shit.

Closing Time- Part 30

When Gold stretched out an instinctive hand to touch his son, wanting to verify that the boy was more than just a hallucination brought on by wishful thinking, Bae stepped back with a groan, lifting a hand to rub the back of his neck.  “I should’ve known this was inevitable.”

Gold staggered forward into the cabin, trying to close the distance between them.  “Bae…”  His eyes were watering, but he didn’t dare even blink, unwilling to take his eyes off the son he hadn’t seen since he was eight years old.  He’d gotten so tall.

Bae’s face hardened.  “My name is Neal.”

get out of my way no one touch me oh my god I have not read this yet; I frantically skimmed several paragraphs while at a gas station then I had to get groceries for my neighbor and I was like need to get home need to get home ugh why do her kids even need to eat all this just give them McDonalds why cannot? But now I am home and I am so ready to read. I took off my makeup to minimize the mess I will make crying. huff huff

I saw an article about llama weddings. I barely skimmed it, but I think it was about a company hiring out a pair of llamas in cute wedding outfits as a photo op for couples who want that kind of thing. If llama!Rumbelle Neal and Emma are looking to make some side income maybe they can give this a try. And if, due to interspecies miscommunication, llama!Rum and llama!Belle assume that the costumes and attention mean their humans have arranged this wedding for them, so much the better. :)

“I can’t believe people pay for this,” Emma said in disbelief as she lowered the horse trailer’s ramp so Belle and Rum could step out of the vehicle.

“Since they’re paying us, maybe you shouldn’t say that so loudly,” Neal pointed out.  As Rum walked down the ramp, brown ears held high and suspiciously swiveling in all directions, Neal nodded in satisfaction.

A moment later, Belle followed Rum down the ramp.  The llamas did look good, Emma had to admit.  Since they started entering the animals in competition, she, Neal, and Henry had gotten grooming down to a science.  Their wool was soft and fluffy, begging to be petted.  

She watched as Neal and Henry applied the finishing touches: a top hat and bowtie for Rum and a veil and a wreath of white roses around Belle’s neck.  They were ready.

Summary: Royce Gold finds himself suffering from sleep-deprivation following the departure of his son to college. Finding that his fear of abandonment is keeping him from a restful night of sleep he seeks out a fellow insomniac to share a bed with. Nothing romantic or complicated, merely a mutually-beneficial arrangement.

Strictly platonic, or so he tells himself. Over and over.

Reading all the Dove bits in this I am at a loss as to why Gold did not cuddle up with the gentle, fuzzy duck-doting, homeopathic medicine-pushing softie right in front of him. Like, come on Gold, hire Dove to rock you to sleep. It seems logical to me. :3

Mini-prompt for Carney-verse: Belle tries out pet names, with awkwardly adorable results. Gold promptly melts into the floor.

Belle jumped as Alastair pressed a kiss to the top of her head.  She’d been so intent on her psychology reading that she hadn’t even heard him come in.  “Studying hard, sweetheart?”

As always, the endearment made her heart melt.  She was Alastair’s sweetheart.  He even called her that in front of other people, letting everyone know that she was special to him.  Nothing—not even getting her GED— had ever made her more proud than knowing that Alastair loved her.

He was so completely perfect that it seemed impossible that he could be uncertain of her affections, but Belle was slowly starting to realize that Alastair wasn’t as confident as he let on.  The fact that he’d believed Keith Nottingham’s horrible words for even one second was proof of that.  If hearing him call her by a pet name made her feel happy and proud, maybe he would like it too.  He might appreciate the reminder of how much she adored him.

I keep thinking about how much I love that Bae assumes he is "pumpkin" :) I bet Emma's parents call her "pumpkin" so that is where Bae is coming from. I can see Belle asking "pumpkin" to grab something for her, and Gold and his son colliding shoulder-to-shoulder when they both move to oblige. Bae explains very patiently and seriously, while pointing at himself, "Papa, I'm pumpkin. Pumpkins are cute." Then he grabs the thing Belle wanted, says "you're 'tiger'" and snorts.

I am going to be disgruntled if this "pulling the sword from the stone" thing turns out to be like the curse or like realm hopping. It took Rumplestiltskin all this training and effort and introspection and being kidnapped to be able to pull the sword from the stone, and I bet in like five episodes every shmoe in town will be pulling swords from stones willy-nilly like people pulling cold sodas from a freaking cooler full of ice.

Ahhhh nuts! I just looked at the blog belles-wardrobe and saw the Zara blouse Belle wore in Enter the Dragon. That aired after I stopped watching the show and keeping tabs on Belle clothes. But the thing is I JUST BOUGHT AN IDENTICAL SHIRT LAST MONTH at Forever 21 for $20. It is EXACTLY spot on! But I cannot find it on Forever 21's website. Darnicles! Hopefully someone else already spotted this alt and shared in the tags? I bought mine in-store around the first week of Septmber. I bought three very similar white tops with black collars. Had I but known I was buying a perfect Belle alt I would have shared! I might go to a Forever 21 this week to look for more work blouses; if I go and I see the Belle alt there I will get the item number! I tune in to OUaT for the first time in over one and a half seasons and this is what happens:

a few minutes in: “Oh this new character is Jewish. Nice to see some diversity.”

a minute later: “wait, is he the bad guy?”

right before I mentally checked out: “Yeah, he is the bad guy.” :|

Maybe I am not being fair. Maybe there was a wealth of balanced and juicy roles showcasing a diverse team of actors while I was not watching. Maybe I am not understanding Isaac and his being Jewish adds some kind of important layer of symbolism to his character which would be revealed to me if I went back and watched all of his episodes.

By the way, I should mention, since I have new followers since posting the Queens of Darkness manis: This blog is dead. Nothing interesting ever happens here.
