Hi! My name is Meghan Rose. I have Trichotillomania, a condition that makes you pull out your hair. I was diagnosed at 6 years old and I am now 18. I also pick at my skin, but not as bad as I pull my hair.
I want to let you know that you are not alone.
Trichotillomania and Dermatillomania are conditions that make you feel shameful and weak and worthless because it seems that you can’t even control your own hands- I know how it is. It’s hard as hell.
But there is hope. After many personal breakthroughs in my healing journey, I have over come the self hatred and shame brought on by these conditions and now I am going to purse a career in modeling this coming year. I want to bring Trich and Derma out of the dark and form a strong online community here on tumblr about these conditions.
If you need someone to talk to, I am always here- be it for advice, or just to talk. You can contact me at this tumblr:

I am a completely open book about trich and skin picking. You can ask me ANY questions or talk to me about ANYTHING trich or derma related. I will not judge you. My blog is a safe place.
More official information about skin picking and hair pulling is available at
http://www.trich.org/
Please go and explore this website. You can find things to help you stay distracted and not pick or pull in the shop section. I bought a spinner ring from here a year ago. It has helped me so much.
Even if you don’t have these disorders, please reblog this post so those who do can find it.
Thank you, from the bottom of my heart.
Let’s stop the shame.
Remember today could be the best day of your life.
I've learned that its okay to break down as long as you remember to get back up.
This is very important for all of us that suffer from anxiety. It could be a bad day today or it could be the day that your life changes for the better. But you’ll never know if you don’t get out of bed :)
