I (finally) got Magda’s friends and family done! From the top down, we have have her little brother Roeland (14), girlfriend Eleanor (18), and best friend Rosalie (17).
(Written because Celtic got a stupid review on Silhouettes that pissed me off at three in the morning so I couldn’t sleep so after lying in bed for ages I decided to write some NB victor stuff)
“Axel! Hey, hey Axel!” Axel pauses when he hears his name being called from down the hall. When he turns around, he sees Gallant Hableton, last year’s victor, running towards him.
The kid slows to a halt in front of him, a wide grin on his face. “Hi!”
Axel frowns, wary. Gallant wasn’t exactly liked among the outer district victors, mostly because he volunteered and didn’t seem to feel too guilty about what he had done in the arena. It hadn’t stopped Gallant from trying to be friendly though. “What do you want?”
The younger victor looks immediately awkward, glancing around nervously. “Well, I was just...” Gallant hesitates for a long while before bursting out. “What do you do when an article misgenders you?!”
Axel freezes. “...Oh.”
He hadn’t had to deal with that for a long while. Fifteen years of being in the spotlight meant that the Capitol had gotten used to his pronouns and not referring to him by gendered terms. It had been hard at first, being the first non-binary victor. Heck, he was the first trans victor in general. It had taken the Capitol reporters a while to grasp the idea that he wasn’t male or female. He was both. Months of misgendering articles had been hard to deal with, but he eventually got it through their thick skulls that he was non-binary and that wasn’t going to change soon.
He had forgotten that it would happen again after Gallant won.
Axel feels a wave of protectiveness wash over him, even though he wasn’t particularly fond of the District One victor. “Who was it?”
“I dunno, just some article in a newspaper that was on the train. Satin pointed it out to me." Noticing Axel’s ticked off expression, he quickly adds, “It’s really not a big deal! I mean, it’s just a stupid newspaper article!”
“Gallant, if people are misgendering you, you have the right to complain. What did they say?”
“It’s really not a big deal. I already talked to the editor, I just... I dunno, what if it happens again?!”
“Oh, it probably will. But you remind people of it enough and eventually they’ll stop being assholes. And those who don’t will get shouted down by the rest. There’s more people willing to learn than people who will waste their time being dicks.”
“Doesn’t always feel like that,” Gallant mutters, shoving his hands into his pockets.
“How are things back in One? Are people treating you okay?”
He nods. “I was out before I volunteered, so if anything, things have gotten better. More respect.” He smirks. “I kind of like the power.”
“Well, if people give you a hard time again, come and let me know. I’ll set them straight.” Axel puts an arm around Gallant’s shoulders. “Just remember: somewhere, there’s a non-binary kid watching us and knowing that they’re just as worthwhile as the cis kids are. It’s worth trucking through all the shit for that kid.”
Gallant gives him a small shy smile, lacking his usual confidence. “I’ll try. For them, I’ll try.”
Cadell/18/bi/he/him pronouns/tough as nails which is what I eat for breakfast
Cadell's blog is part memes, part reblogs from travel/nature blogs, part fandom shit. He also occasionally posts pictures of Agni when he's looking away from him and adds some sappy caption.
Agni's:
piss off --> after an hour of pestering from Cadell he let him change it to: A/18/gay af/nicer than I seem (he refused to put in the part where he tells Tyson to eat a dick)
Agni always forgets he has one and posts like, once a week. It's usually just reblogs of nature photos and snarky exchanges with Tyson because they refuse to use the chat or text each other.
