More than just a pretty face : Lonely’s SS2016 campaing for real girls

“A fashion label has chosen two unconventional models to star in its latest campaign in a huge step forward for ‘real’ beauty. New Zealand brand Lonely, who creates womenswear, lingerie and swimwear, has hand-picked two women with curves and body hair to debut its ‘Jessie’ SS16 lingerie collection. Paloma Elsesser and Arvida Byström are both said to be outspoken supporters of body positivity and claim to reject traditional beauty standards. The brand wanted its line to be modelled by women who inspire them, claiming that they are ‘more than just a pretty face’.

“The images were shot by New York-based photographers Zara Mirkin and Mayan Toledano during a ‘road trip’ along America’s west coast. Lonely, which claims to champion diversity and comfort in its clothes, stocks bras in a range of styles going from A to F-cup. Its new collection also includes multi-band and criss-cross straps, as well as more flattering long-line bras and high-waisted briefs for curvier women. The line also features vintage-inspired lace and velvet inserts, in blacks, nudes, greens and bright scarlet.”
