Scorch Trials: Dance scene
You know what I liked about that dance scene?? Everything. It's special in a lot of ways and I'm now going to talk about it and what is so interesting.
After Thomas and Brenda get shoved into the "club"(?) I'm guessing whatever Marcus gave them was a psychoactive drug, because Thomas starts hallucinate. I don't know if Brenda does too, she probably does but it's only implied she's drunk.
But then he sees Winston in the crowd, backlit (lit from behind so you can't see his face) and I don't know if everyone caught it, but he says "Thomas". That was gut wrenching, and Thomas looks really freaked out not like "what we left you out to rot in the desert?? why are you still here??" but I saw something on his face that was more akin to "oh my God Winston is that really you?"
Then there's the part where he sees Newt. Now everyone who is anyone has seen this part of the scene, it is in all of the "maze runner crack" and "crack is good" and other videos like that I have seen. He sees Newt in crank for and the look on his face is one of shock. It scared him a lot, the thought of loosing Newt did. Then he trips over and falls on the floor and sees these big "creatures" (im not sure if they're cranks because the cranks are usually unusually thin and while they have vines on them im not sure what that is yet). To which he curls up in what I believe was an anxiety attack or just from nerves and Teresa runs up to him to go get him.
Quite possibly one of my favorite scenes in the whole movie. It was well shot and well lit, and produced very well with amazing acting.
