The Trailblazer (⦿⦿⦿⦿⦿⦿⦿|⦿)
Spawning in a strange desert, the Trailblazer is one who relies on community. The earring and ribbon show all scavengers that it is a permanent ally.
The Trailblazer is permanently at the highest reputation level with scavengers, able to cross any and all tolls. It has a slightly higher understanding of the scavenger's languages, although is still its own animal.
Adopted by scavengers, the Trailblazer spawns in a sand-buried temple far from anywhere familiar. Even having a secret path to the Coral Caves. However, the Trailblazer is curious, and in the hopes of being able to give back to the scavengers, goes on a journey.
A malfunctioning section of Five Pebbles blasts this landscape in devastating levels of heat. And what lives beyond is even more deadly.
The Trailblazer, while having a fuzzy silhouette much like the Saint, is completely covered in sharp spines, able to use them to defend against predatory grasps.
The Trailblazer lives to explore in the name of aiding its adoptive home. But the stories made to ward off curious souls aren't far from the truth. And while tankier than most, your slight decrease in speed means you must stand your ground or else.
The Vermin (⦿⦿⦿⦿|⦿⦿)
(No select screen art)
Additional Mods Used: Cutscene Slugcats
A normal-ish creature, looks can be deceiving. The Vermin plays at one of the most major disadvantages of all.
Tailless and Armless, the Vermin has four legs and little ways to defend itself. It can only hold one item in its mouth, and throwing spears is difficult.
Relatively simple for a campaign, the main difficulty is the challenge-like nature.
...luckily, due to jank code, it can still hang off the bottom of poles! The question is... how?
The Verdant (⦿⦿⦿⦿⦿⦿|⦿⦿⦿)
Additional mods used: Cutscene Slugcats
Followed by a green overseer, the Verdant is the most modified slugcat of them all so far. Blindfolded and yet able to see all, the Verdant has a leap attack that it can use to close the distance with potential prey.
Region gates stay unlocked permanently, like Monk, with a custom sprite to represent a sort of 'hacking' of the gates.
The Verdant, being technically blinded, does not move its head towards things it sees, only doing so when it hears objects.
The Verdant is mostly under wraps story-wise, due to being a rather high-scope and work-in-progress campaign. However, unlike what the peaceful naturely appearance suggests, you are a killing machine.
The Viper (⦿⦿⦿⦿⦿⦿⦿|⦿⦿⦿)
A one-limbed apex predator, you are able to convert your food pips to envenom your spear. Your spears do almost no damage, as your remaining arm is unable to accurately and strongly hit the weakest spots.
However, your spear can still stun, and even if you are starving, there's always another way to inject your venom. Mauling your prey enough times and their lifespan will be measured in seconds.
With a 1.20x increase in speed and no other limb to hold rocks, your survival hinges on reflexes and wit.
The ability to hold a spear on your back as a sling can be useful, but the issue comes from how it happens midway through a campaign.
Not to mention, you aren't alone in this campaign. Something is slowly but surely tracking you down as your cannibalistic past comes back to haunt you.
What you do with this is your choice.
The Heretic (⦿⦿⦿⦿⦿⦿⦿⦿⦿⦿|⦿⦿)
(currently no select screen art)
Not quite a slugcat, but still playable. Your mobility is much more versatile than others, and you can climb surfaces with ease. Too small to digest your prey alive, you still have a vast hunger.
Most of this campaign is under wraps, due to spoilers. But here's the pretty arena mode colours!
The Dreamer (⦿⦿⦿⦿⦿⦿|⦿⦿⦿⦿)
Additional mods used: Cutscene Slugcats
The Dreamer is high-risk and high reward. You have the ability to, while at any karma level besides the lowest, consume one level to escape death. You also gain the ability to go up a karma level by eating Karma Flowers. In darker areas, your shield is even visible to the naked eye.
High water movement and a diverse moveset (some abilities appearing and disappearing depending on your karma level) means the campaign does not pull punches.
Going past the Chimeshores and gardens, you will be forced to go through pathways of corrosive wastewater that slowly blockade paths over the course of a cycle. Being able to avoid a lethal bite is not the same as being able to be dissolved for long periods of time, after all.
And the fiery underbelly isn't much better.
Being karmically attuned beyond natural limits has it's perks, though. Which is why you're not alone. Good luck!
The Aeolian (⦿⦿⦿⦿⦿⦿⦿⦿|⦿)
Additional Mods used: Chipper's Harpy Sprites, Cutscene Slugcats.
The Aeolian is a challenging pacifist-like campaign. Starting in a custom area, it cannot throw spears, instead using a gliding mechanic to ascend short distances and glide.
It has multiple cosmetic effects as well, notably sticking arms out in a dromaeosaurid-like fashion while walking and holding its arms out while gliding.
Additional stats include a 1.15x multiplier to movement speed. Being unable to defend itself and with a high food cost, movement is mandatory.
The story is similar to survivor, and is meant to be a simple but difficult taste for what the mod offers.
