I definitely think the offer is real. The PSG interest isn’t really all that new and with the way Enrique spoke about him at the beginning of the World Cup, I believe, he seems to think he can make Ferran work in their system :/

As I see it, Barca are realistically on the back foot with these negotiation.

Lewa’s gone and with no guarantees on the Alvarez deal Ferran is the club’s only striker right now (unless ofc they call up the academy kid and throw him to the wolves)

If they sell Ferran, Barca are looking at having to buy 2 9s in a pretty shit striker market.

Ferran also only has a year left on his contract so I massively question if Barca are even gonna get enough from PSG to actually buy a backup striker of Ferran’s calibre or better in this window (unless ofc they try and rotate Julian with a Gordon or Adeyemi, which, from what I’ve seen of them doesn’t seem like the best idea)

Realistically the club would probably gain more keeping Ferran on and using him as a backup for Julian than they would selling him this summer window.

My worry is that his side, knows this, and has already tried using this PSG interest/offer in recent negotiations and Barca aren’t budging and are still unwilling to meet his demands whether that be in money, minutes, or something else.

I fear Ferran is simply having to look past a love for the club and a wish to stay and instead having to properly consider what’s best for his career, and I doubt he’s gonna get a better deal than the reigning two time champions of Europe :(

After taking a three hour nap and unwinding from that match I have come to the simple conclusion
