“No, no, it’s… uh…” Polarity removed the gloved hand from her mouth and attempted to steel herself against any more outburst. “It’s good - it’s, yeah. Good. Brings out your eyes.” A few quick, not-quite-reassuring nods followed her statement.
“Oh, I’m well aware,” she went on, a confident smile on her face. The exact nature of the photoshoot wasn’t known to Polarity; she was told it would be some tropical themed one to promote a beauty cosmetic, but stopped listening after she saw the draft designs for her costume. A two-piece swimsuit with a matching cover-up, modest yet tasteful, and in the same color schemes and motifs as her suit. It was gorgeous, and she couldn’t wait for the day the campaign got released. “They, uh, put some more thought into mine, though.”
Brown eyes glanced to the time on her phone screen. She had gotten here early on purpose - more time in hair and makeup meant more time to look perfect - and hadn’t seen another soul until Hughie emerged from the dressing room. Not even the beauty team had arrived yet. “You are incredibly early - you know that, right? Nobody ever usually beats me to these things.”
A discouraged set of nods, followed by a snarky “Brings out my eyes, right..” would be the first sign of his distaste for her attitude. He’d listen to her, a brow raised above the other as he would cross his arms. Not only did she make fun of his outfit in the most roundabout way, but she continued to drill into his head that her outfit was better. That she was above him in this situation. “Wonderful. No, yeah, that’s great for you..” Hughie sighed before catching his own tongue.
‘Need something eye-catching to distract people from the neck up..’ He thought to himself, and god did he want to say it out loud. But he was far too much of a wuss to say it. Campbell would shrug as he looked at her, awkwardly scratching the back of his neck. “I like being early. Just.. a habit I get from my dad, I guess.”
