“Alright, yeah, that seems like a good idea.” They get to their feet, and with Sink’s help, manage to stay on them. “Barney probably has some way of contacting… someone, right?”
They end up wandering the base floor of the safe house, until Sink starts clawing at a section of the floor. Adrian kneels down, pushes the carpet aside, and finds a small hatch down to a lower level.
“Hm.” They give Sink a pat. “You stay up here, I’ll check this out.” And with that, Adrian carefully descends the ladder.
The room is small and dank, clearly a recent addition to the building. Other than a large console- it looks like combine tech, stolen and pieced back together haphazardly- the room is empty.
“Huh.” They approach the console, looking it over and starting to press any and every button they can get their fingers on. “Anyone know how to work one of these-“
[Adrian looks surprised.]
“Oh!” The screen crackles on, illuminating the dark room with a blue glow. Adrian stumbles back and barely manages to regain their balance.
[Portrait of Isaac Kleiner, done in black and white. He’s smiling.]
“Oh, hello Barney, you caught me at a good-“
[Kleiner looks startled.]
“Oh! You aren’t Barney, how did you-“
“Yeah, don’t really have time for that, sorry. I promise, I’m not- I’m on the side of the Resistance, Gordon’s my friend, and I really need some help with something.” Adrian approaches the console again, just to lean heavily against it.
[Kleiner looks concerned.]
“... Alright, I’ll see what I can do. What do you need help with?”
