Callistemon Species (Lane Cove National Park)
Grey Spider flower (Grevillea buxifolia). It grows in coastal New South Wales, Australia. The photo was taken at Stony Range Regional Botanic Garden
Eastern Yellow Robin ( Eopsaltria australis) - Very Inquisitive bird, 15cm in length. The photo was taken at Harold Reid Reserve.
Wombat Berry (Eustrephus latifolius) - 3-lobed orange capsule fruit with numerous black seeds. Photo taken at North Sydney Coal loader.
Epacris longiflora (Fuchsia Heath) - Bell Shaped flowers. Flowering throughout year, less so in summer.
Spotted Pardalote (Pardalotus punctatus) - Spotted at Harold Reid reserve - One of the smallest of Australia’s birds. (10 cm in size)
Brush turkey (Bush-turkey) [Alectura lathami] - One among the 22 bird species worldwide that use the external heat source for incubation. This male was spotted at Castlecrag during the breeding season as the yellow wattle is present only during this time!
Actinotus helianthi (Flannel Flower). Short lived perennial although dune form is more robust and may last for 15 years. The photo was taken at Sylvan Grove Garden
Xanthorrhoea australis (Austral Grass Tree). Xanthorrhoea literally means “yellow flow” in Ancient Greek. The photo was taken at Stony Range Regional Botanic Garden.
