One’s aura spoke of one’s strength. It was able to ripple the serenity of world just as it was able to calm it once again. Whether on purpose or not, how much one let theirs out was depending on the person alone. Either with their own control or even unaware of it seeping into the earth.
The King of Dressrosa was more than good at picking it up, and the moment he felt an unfamiliar presence in his domain he advised his Family to leave the matters to him. The guest seemed to come with peaceful intentions, for now.
First clue already given out, purposely to see if Joker would pick up on it. He did. Poker face was in place regardless, his amusement was his OWN. ❝ Sinclair… I’d love a drink with you as well. I do like the deal you’re offering. ❞
❝ Baby 5, get wine. ❞ The girl quickly agreed and went to fetch the liquor, while Gladius kept to the side, arms crossed and glare suspicious. Diamante was off in the coliseum, however Pica was always watching from within the walls. The others were close, but not inside the room. Doflamingo found it funny, he knew well how to take care of himself, and by the man’s relaxed posture he could easily deduce the other didn’t give a flying fuck.
❝ Since you’re the guest, I’ll allow you the first question. ❞ What would someone as old ask first?
The compliance was greeted with a small smile. Whether the old king was being truthful with his question, there was no confirming. As if that mattered much, every miniscule detail may not even be remembered if something were to go wrong. A keeper of memories--he could be. And in this case, he was humouring someone, in any case, this was more like play and one would be grateful that he gave them the time of day. Rather than making things go quick. He, like a lion, could easily strike down those that opposed him, but if a drink was provided with vigour, he wouldn’t mind letting things go by slowly.
Then again, it was entertaining either way, the amount of people at this man’s side. Those suspicious, those critical, those fearful, and those indifferent. His appearance would alert any of their right mind, to try and escape, or comply. Though none would escape his judgement--his reign may have ended, but once a king was crowned, he may never lose that role.
Some simply never understood that fact. One has to be crowned a king before they can call themselves for eternities after.
Sinclair never tensed, never twitched. He was as calm as the a pond, beneath it’s surface was a deep mystery, but what was above was a simple ripple. Yet like a pond, he held dangers the deeper one went, a deep end that sunk as quick as it rose. A wrong step and breath would be taken, and drowning would be inevitable. His smile widened somewhat and blond hair, tied so neatly in the braid behind him, dragged against the movement of his head. A brief tilt towards the walls.
“ My first question, yes... You are knowledgeable I’m sure. Yet your kingdom lacks what I desire, I hope you will not. ”
A hand shuffled in his coat, before pulling out a ring of film. He looked at the roll of film with a critical eye, smile not subsiding and yet gaze looking with growing disappointment.
“ I do hope you won’t mind that I took this from one of your guards outside...I was hoping for some hint of it, and yet it is no where. ”
He shook his head, tightening his grip around the film. Crushing some of the pieces that managed to unwind. The images within them contorting and becoming misshapen. The one he ‘ took ’ it from was of no importance. A pawn of pawns, a useless guard that in the end, would have done nothing but act as a camera for the future. For him, for Sinclair to peak at and try to find what he desired.
“ The Germa Empire...I want to know where it is, or what you know of it. ”
He pushed the roll of film back into his coat. He’d give it back before he left, yet spare film was always useful, and the man he had taken it from was without any memory--no recollection of a name, life, nor role. As if it mattered much. It would be what these in this room would be, if he was disappointed enough. So far, he was no where near feeling like that. But one could never know, could they?
