Me after seeing the four boys in episode one of Plagueround:
May I have Monty in a wolf shirt please this one specifically
I think you overestimate my ability to draw a wolf
I LOVE THEM SO MUCH ALREADY!
So about Maureen in "The Screams of the Damned":
"I didn't mean it though you know" - AJ
The first time we see her she looks really troubled, and insists she didn't mean to kill 20 people. She doesn't try to hide the fact that she did it though and offers up the fact that she's the Killer of Wolverhampton quite quickly, so it's unlikely that she's lying about not meaning it
"How do you know what Satan's like; he might be nice?" - Sam "I've read books" - AJ "The spell, I heard it. I’ve read that book before" - AJ
Maureen seems to know about Satan - enough to have seen various iterations (except the Lucifer tv show apparently) - and has somehow read "The Satanic Rituals"
"I’m gonna do one good thing" - AJ
From what we see (and actions speak louder than words), we know she's a good person or at least is trying to be. She offers to help John David almost immediately, and is supportive throughout
"I didn't have a choice" - AJ "I just went down the wrong path" - AJ
I think she felt like she didn't have a choice, but wasn't forced to do it by anyone. And the best reason I've come up with is she was trying to use dark magic to bring someone back. The only reason you'd feel like you didn't have a choice in doing this is if you were either responsible for their death, or you were supposed to look after them but didn't or couldn't. She says "Let's see if I can remember how to do this", which means she's tried to create a portal before. I don't think she can fully control her magical abilities though, and the only reason it didn't backfire this time is because Alys was the one doing the spell and Alys completed it before Maureen's faulty spell could have any effect
"There's only uh... room for one, so... I'll- I'll just be here" - AJ
She full-on murders the two cock-spear guards to save Jimmy, and then seems really intent on making a good impression and is so patient when listening to him. She's also ready to sacrifice herself for Jimmy
I think the person she was trying to bring back might've been her young son or daughter - I'm imaging around the same age as Jimmy, maybe a couple of years older. Clouded by grief and hellbent on bringing them back, she ended up dabbling in dark magic, but none it worked properly and so she ended up accidentally sending random people across Wolverhampton to hell instead. Tragically, since she was using a spell that creates a portal to hell, she never would have managed to bring back her child, who'd been sent to heaven. And maybe her child would sometimes visit, and maybe they'd try to comfort her, and couldn't understand why she'd never respond-
god loves you but not enough to save you
hello sfth fandom i dont rlly post on here but uhm. i love maureen serial killer of wolverhampton so much i needed to get this out of my system
for context ive fabricated a backstory for her that she was indoctrinated by some sort of cult (aka the book leading her down the wrong path, her not having a choice when she killed those people etc) until they sacrificed her too and thats how she ended up in hell i love her very dearly

Is the fruit of the knowledge of good and evil a really basic choice for a metaphor about temptation? Yes, but that won’t stop me.

"Beelzebubette speaking?"
Just wanted to draw how I imagined her hehe
Forever obsessed with them!!
Okay, sfth bitter sweethearts fandom, I need answers. If I were in the process of writing a fic where the Sweethearts end up in Barovia a la Curse of Strahd (I say like I'm not already several thousand words into such a fic), would anyone have interest in reading something like that?
I've gotten the feeling from fics on ao3 that there's probably a good number of sfth fans who don't know a lot about dnd and thus don't know what I'm talking about, but I guess I'm curious if there's an audience for this.
Thoughts?
As per my previous post-
I did it.
