Send a 💕 if you want to be my Muse’s Valentine.
Even if it's a struggle getting herself out of bed most days, Ayano wasn't about to abandon her childhood friend around the time of the holidays. With her mother's funds dwindling, she couldn't afford a fancy present- but she did give her a bouquet of yellow roses, gently tapping on her shoulder to get her attention. "Happy holidays" she muttered, trying to force a light smile.
The brunette couldn’t smile at the gift that her friend gave her; she didn’t expect much about gifts because the thought makes it count, right? Besides, roses are quite nice.
Though she felt bad not getting her something in Christmas..
‘T-thank you, Ayano, but you don’t have to since.. I don’t have anything to give you..”
( @pacianx / → ♡ ).
Initially, he should have realized that those plants hanging at random but also oddly specific parts of the house had a purpose beyond his comprehension, not just mere decoration he found strange and bothersome to the eye.
Kuro did not truly have ‘friends’ in this party besides Gurin—whom was busy taking selfies among other students only after forcing one picture together with him—so he scooted closer the first familiar person in his visual field which was Naoko. Of course, he had noticed the mistletoe above her but did not think much about the consequences.
“Huh?,” glancing back and forth from her to the plant above, he looked confused. Why was she making such a fuss about? Kuro spied from the corner of his eyes and realized that other students were snickering and pointing at them. Closing his eyes and taking a deep breath, he tried to collect his thoughts about what was taking place in his ignorance.
Upon opening his eyes once more, he observed the room once more and noticed that whenever a pair of students ended underneath that plant, they had to share a kiss.
( The example he saw was none other than
Osana giving a kiss to a very flustered Budo ).
Was that all that proved to be a problem for Naoko?
“. . .A kiss, the tradition suggests that we ought to kiss, isn’t that right?,” he made a brief pause before his lips curved into what he hoped looked like a reassuring smile before leaning to her height, “we don’t have to if you don’t want to, Naoko—even if our classmates want to poke fun of us, I could always kiss you in the corner of your lips so they won’t bother. From their angle, it would appear as if we have followed the tradition”.
Despite the nagging in the back of his head and those voices that haunted him resambling the one of his mother, ones that told him:
‘you only have to dedicate your life to one person! You will know when it happens, the one for you, my dear’ but not only those sweets words but poisonous phrases as well ‘Kuro, don’t be like your brother. Do not disappoint me, alright dear? Repeat that after me. I will not disappoint you, mother. Your body is empty, you are a broken doll, son. Just like I was once, just like your siblings—and what do we do with broken dolls? We fix them. But how do we fix ourselves? With one person, with their love that will bring a reason for us to live’.
Such words still haven’t registered in his mind for he could feel extremely basic things and ever so lightly, but he could feel regardless of his mother always telling him the opposite. Denying the little humanity he assumed without doubts he actually had.
Kuro just. . .didn’t know how to express himself or the name of whatever emotion he felt. He did not believe in a curse of love but he did believe he was cursed not to understand—but mostly, that his mother was trying to brainwash him and turn him into what Shiawase rebelled against to.
“I also would like toapologise, Naoko. . .for getting us trapped into this situation. I am probably not the person you want to kiss.”
Naoko's mind couldn't bother her to hear the words of the ravenet; it only focused of how Kuro's face is in a few inches closer to her face.
Like a deer in headlights with a brief pause, Naoko's face immediately turned into a scarlet red. She hardly tried to wave it off, as only squeaked out a few words in which a few erupted into a giggle to her little adorable squeaks.
"N-no, it's not your fault-! It's just that.."
The brunette could feel both her heart and adrenaline beating faster than ever. She covers her face, as it became more red, she could have a fever right now.

“W - Watch out!” A little too late the girl she meant to warn fell on the pavement.
Osana sighed heavily and rushed to her side, how could someone be so deep into their thoughts to completely deattach themselves from reality? Now that she thought about it, she knew a certain daydreamer who ocassionally suffered from the same.
“Are you alright? Can you walk? That was. . .a super-nasty fall,” the redhead kneeled next to her side, frowning lightly. “If you can’t walk on your own, I can carry you to the infirmary—even if you end up being heavy, I can deal with it.” Her facial features softened. A small yet friendly smile curved her lips, she meant no ill with that comment. Just humor this situation. It happened from time to time, to daydream and suffer a minor accident caused by that.
'Ow..'
Although a few injuries, it wasn't a nice fall per-say.
Not a stepped-on-a-lego kind, more of a bumped-on-something-hard kind; wincing, the brunette stands up a bit as trying to steady her own composure.
“A-ah, no, it’s fine really! You don’t have to do that, it’s my fault for being so careless after all!”
So she was here to see Midori, huh? What was she off doing? Chiaki didn’t exactly pay attention when the green haired female had left, she said something about the posters? Perhaps the best guess was that she was going to put them up. She did say earlier that day she was going to put them up. With a shrug to herself, she guessed that’s probably what she was going.
“I think she went to go hang up the club posters…” She didn’t sound very convincing but she hoped the other would believe her.
“You can stay here and wait for her if you want, she should be back soon.”
"R-really? Um, thank you.."
She didn't want to refuse the offer since her friend will be back sooner or later. The brunette went in the deserted computer room with the only person in here, well, make that two since Naoko is in here now.
“So, um- you just only stayed here a lot..?"
