— i’m going by the 100 gifs per 5 usd ratio. let’s say you purchased and gifted me an item worth 10$, you’ll get a pack of 200 gifs. that’s the general gist. and as i’ve said, the price is adjustable.

— i’ll not be accepting commissions for fcs who were not above the age of 20 when filming the project.

— i’ll be giffing at the size of 268x151, using my own psd and sharpening. i’ll not use another size, psd, or sharpen action.

— how long will it take? depends on the number of gifs and the amount of packs i’ll be working on at that time. usually for a 100 gifs pack it should not take more than three days if there are no other commitments.

— a link will go up immediately with the gifs i’ve made as soon as i’ve started working on the pack & keep updating it as more are made. basically early access to the work.

— as such, i’m only accepting commissions for public packs as of now. this may be subjected to change.

hello! i love your gifs! ♡ can you give some tips about how do you make them with this amazing quality? how is your process?

holy shit thank you so much! of course, this is my small step by step guide! if you have questions regarding any of these please let me know! i’ll be happy to help.

1. video quality.

1hr = 1gb at least! 1080p x264 files are my go to. even if these requirements are not met, don’t worry (esp for yt videos). but if you’re t*rrenting, try to look out for these specifics. the 2160p / 4k ones are an overkill for making smaller gifs, the quality difference is almost negligible.

2. converting mkv to mp4.

as the title says. i use avidemux for the conversion. you can neglect this step if you’re able to open the mkv file on photoshop but if not, go for this.

3. clipping the scenes.

any trimming tool should be fine but personally i use the trimming in-built in the windows video player or premier pro’s scene edit detection tool (tutorial here!)

4. gif sharpening.

video frames to layers is what i use to load the file on to photoshop. the sharpening settings i use for the gifs are these!

of course you can adjust this as you wish but this is my current go to settings.

5. base psd.

this is actually the staple process that holds the quality and crispiness of my gifs together along with step 4 in my opinion. back then whatever colouring i used there was always grains on the gifs that would just not go no matter what i tried. and after a lot of trial and error this was what made it go, at least most of it. this is the psd used for all my gifs.

the only thing i adjust here are the curves layers. what i do is use the white point brush and point it on any light area of the gif (preferably any shade of white). then use the black point brush to darken it by using it on anyy of the dark areas. it creates a contrast that i think elevates the look of the gif, or at least that’s what i believe haha.

but please beware: this colouring is hella restrictive. you can add whatever adjustment layers you need of course, but if you’re planning on strictly using this, please know that it turns your colours pastel-ish. so it can whitewash your fc easily. be careful and do adjust the curves layers accordingly.

6. save settings.

either adaptive/diffusion or selective/diffusion. what i use depends on whether the gif is grainy or not. if it is grainy on the former, i change it to the latter. and voila the grains do lessen! not always but it has worked well enough.

and that’s it!

that’s all. the main processes are the sharpening and the psd i’ve never put down. the other steps are negligible at best, you can tinker with it as much as you want!
