Wolverine by Frank Miller, with Colors by Lynn Varley.Â
Frank has his original light-boxed Inks as part of his personal collection, so the pencils and Lynn Varleyâs painted colors are all that I can find. Sooo stoked to have found this.

âParfumâ for Interview Magazine
I did six perfume bottle illustrations for fragrance reviews in the Russian edition of Interview Magazine. They all had very different personalities and I wanted to show visually what you otherwise would never see.
Thanks to AD Mariya Brish!
âBroken Fileâ for Entertainment Weekly
An illustration I did about the Sony hacking scandal for EW. I wanted it to feel like you were peeking through a door and eavesdropping on something scandalous. And the digital footprint of this dirty secret is broken. The way people are responding to these scandals these days, we might as well be getting a 404 error from them haha
Thanks to AD Aaron Morales!
âTIMBERâ For Old Spice
I got to work on this cool gif for Old Spice. I was in Japan for a few weeks when I worked on this, so some of the effects may have come out a little more weaboo than normal. I swear the katana was already on the list of items before I got to it though. The final item, which ended up being a stick of Timber deodorant, was left up to fan vote. But, before they announced it I really thought I was going to have to animate Terry Cruz.
Thanks to AD Hope Reynolds!
Tuesday Tips - Inspirations Batman: Animated (the book) Probably the first non-Disney art book to make a lasting impression on me. As a teenager/young adult, it completely changed the way I would approach and appreciate animated art. It made me realize early on that âless is moreâ. At that point in my art education, I would be amazed by anything Disney, but it was so sophisticated in its use of every animation principles and unmatched talents, that my brain couldnât âseeâ the process. Batman animated was different. I could âseeâ the shapes and the use of contrast and color choices. The book swung open the doors to the inner workings of an animated project for me. It solidified my decision to work in animation an made me a lifelong fan of anything Bruce Timm / Paul Dini / Darwyn Cooke / Shane Glines / etc. Buy this book! Now. -Norm
