Margaux Arramon-Tucoo creates a world that suits her. She rides longboards in the era of ever-shorter. She paints kaleidoscopic rainbows of shapes and color that do not betray her first love. Though surfing and art are inexorably linked, she believes that surfers do not have to be surf artists. Instead, her entire world, from her pastel yellow Renault van to the clean lines she carves on her single-fin longboards appear effortlessly orchestrated â as though she bends the appearance of the universe to suit her whimsical mind. This speaks to the intangible magnetism Margaux possesses. Itâs not record-breaking aerials or death-defying tow-ins that have garnered her international attention. Surfing is Margauxâs way of reconnecting with the essential, of speaking directly to the quietest part of the soul. Surfing gives what creating takes. Green Dot Public Schools has thrived through community partnerships and the generosity of individual philanthropists. Our long-time partner, Oscar De La Hoya, Olympic gold medalist, and seven-time world boxing champion, is dedicated to transforming public education in Los Angeles. In 2003, De La Hoya worked with Green Dot Public Schools to open Oscar De La Hoya Ănimo Charter High School in the Boyle Heights neighborhood of Los Angeles - the first new high school there in more than 60 years.

Do you repeatedly attempt to seperate your tires from your rims in every corner, do you say lets take this ride mellow, does your trail bike find itself going slide ways.. Those up hill both ways days just got a little less sucky. Short snappy chainstays, long top tube and a low BB set the stage for a bike that likes to party -

The Paint Shop teamed up with Monster Children and Todd Glaser who visited RVCA/ANP artist Kevin Ancell at his studio, where he waxed poetic about religion, politics, and the inevitability that âthings are gonna snap.â If he had to describe his work, heâd go with âNeo-romanticismâ, though he opposes labeling things. In fact, he opposes anything rigid or authoritarian. The term âZero fucks givenâ gets thrown around pretty haphazardly these days, but Kevin Ancell is the real deal. You could check every pocket and cavity of his body a million times over, and still come up empty handed.

If anyone knows about pools, itâs the original Dogtown Z-Boys. Peggy Oki, the original Z-Girl, has certainly shredded her fair share. Yeah, Peggy knows all about pools.
Summer has ended. No more surf no more fun. We pack our bags and head back to work or school with our heads hanging low. Were in that awkward transitional phase waiting for those winter swells that are always foiled by trips to see our families in the midwest for the holidays. Were growing up and getting old. At least the memories are nice. Goodbye summer. We will miss you...

"It's a special feeling when you remember to stop thinking in the mountains and just let gravity tell you what to do.â Â -Alex Yoder Yoder shifted his career over the past few seasons, and more recently became the only American to join the Gentem Stick team. He now spends much of the winter in Japan, digging deep into the perspective of the snow surf scene. Simultaneously, his style and approach to riding, and even living, have developed significantly.
The Paint Shop is now on instagram. Have a lookie.

Expanding recycling programs and moving forward with new product innovations, Bureo has now launched âPush for Tomorrowâ a movement to unite the board riding culture, encouraging riders of all crafts to take responsibility for the health of the ocean and to secure a cleaner tomorrow. Push for Tomorrow is a rally to younger generations to live a sustainable lifestyle. ... support local cleanup and recycling efforts...bring awareness to the threats facing our natural playgrounds and to be a part of the solution.
The guys over at Bureo Skateboards developed a pioneering way to make skateboards. So me and the guys at The Paint Shop took a weekend and made this film about all the innovative ways to ride their cruiser board.
Terasu Life
Brandon DâImperio has thought long and hard about what he does at Circle Rock Ranch, and why he does it. He doesnât raise his sheep, goats, turkey, and pigs just to be consumed. He enjoys having them, and building a relationship with them. When we toured his farm, his sincerity struck me deeply. It was evident by the composure of his animals that they felt safe; the horses and the goats calmly walked towards him wherever he went.
When the time does feel right to end a life, he reveals that it is always an emotional process. There are moments when he has doubted, like many of us, whether it is right to eat meat in the first place. Yet once his animals have experienced a good life, he feels it is best that he, who is essentially a mother-like figure to them, takes its life. When the animal is then prepared to be eaten and shared, it is a beautiful exchange of energy. He genuinely disapproves of conventional animal farming and slaughter houses, and the disrespect of life and death that is all too common today.
This summer Julie Hotz will attempt to hike the Pacific Northwest Trail in one long trip. Â It runs for over 1,200 miles from Glacier National Park Montana to the Washington Olympic coast. Â It goes over several mountain ranges, crosses over rivers, around lakes, through grizzly country, it goes down roads and trails, and bushwacks through the wilderness.
But to get to the trailhead, to start this adventure, Hotz want to find a way that relies on clean energy and she wants to be involved in a community project of some sort, whether that be community on a large or small. Â With smog filled cities everywhere, with human presence becoming ever greater, with ocean surface temperatures rising, with consumerism increasing at an extreme rate, she wants to tell a story about reducing one's footprint, using very little, and about less truly being more. Â And so Hotz will be cycling from her home in Los Angeles, CA to Glacier National Park instead of driving or flying. Â She will be generating power through the wheel of her bicycle, and the bicycle itself will be powered by blood sweat and tears, and she will be gathering data and samples and raising money for the organization Adventurers and Scientists for Conservation, which relies on the larger community of outdoor enthusiasts to help gather data to do large scale environmental research which otherwise is too costly and time intensive.
