Surfer Girl Essentials: Sunglasses made from recycled fishing nets by BUREO x KARÜN
Our friends at bureoskateboards have collaborated with Chilean eyewear company KARÜN to create the Ocean Collection, the first collection of sunglasses made from recycled fishing nets collected off the coast of Chile.
We’ve tried them and we love them!
Here is why:
SUSTAINABLE & INNOVATIVE - These sunglasses are not like any other sunnies that are available in the market. They are made out of BUREO’s Net+Positiva plastic and designed by KARÜN, a company that specialises in producing premium eyewear from natural materials.
Wearing a pair of these shades means that you are supporting BUREO’s Net+Positiva recycling program, in other words (BUREO’s words) you are “preventing harmful discarded fishing nets from entering our oceans while funding programs to empower coastal communities” and to be honest it feels pretty awesome to support such a noble cause.
PREMIUM QUALITY - All shades come with Carl Zeiss polarized and scratch resistant lenses that offer excellent UV protection. Both frame and lens quality is superb, great workmanship, it feels like these sunglasses will last a lifetime.
LOOK & FEEL - Don’t expect these sunnies to have a plastic feel to them, Bureo’s Net+Positiva plastic is a unique material that gives them a one of kind style and feel.
Nice fit, very comfortable, frame is strong yet feels surprisingly light.
Matt texture gives these shades a smart casual look that’s great for both the beach and the city.
Dimensions vary from one style to another so make sure you choose the right style for your head!
GREAT VALUE FOR MONEY - Bureo x Karün are running a Kickstarter campaign until September 10, 2015 where you can pre-order a pair for only USD99.00. Make sure you don’t miss out!

We are proud to support Bureo’s initiative and encourage everyone to visit their website www.bureoskateboards.com to learn more about their sustainable products and the Net+Positiva program in Chile.
Together we can make a difference so let’s all try to shop smart and spread some Good Vibes along the way YEW!
The guys over at Bureo Skateboards developed a pioneering way to make skateboards. So me and the guys at The Paint Shop took a weekend and made this film about all the innovative ways to ride their cruiser board.
