After a long, eight hour bus ride I finally have arrived back in Florence from my weekend trip to Interlaken! It was such a blast. Not only did we enjoy walking around such a beautiful city, we also had the best time snow shoeing and skiing. Everywhere we went we were completely surrounded by snow covered mountains. It was absolutely breathtaking. Next stop: Paris!
Here are some highlights from Amsterdam last weekend. We went to the Anne Frank museum, the Van Gogh museum, the famous Pancake Bakery, and even a cheese museum too! I really fell in love with this city. From the food to the canals, it sure was a weekend I'll never forget.
Ciao!! Even though we only spent one night in Rome, we sure did cover every site there was to see. Some highlights included the Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, The Vatican, and the Coliseum. We also went to Tonys for dinner, which was so much fun! Definitely not a place to miss.. Great food and a great time Next stop: Amsterdam!

Hi everyone! Sorry I haven’t been able to post yet: we’ve had some trouble with our wifi in the apartment. Besides that and our hot water turning off every other day, our apartment is pretty much close to perfect. The brick, stone, and wood detail truly makes it one of the most charming places I have ever stayed in.
Our first week has been filled with school orientation and getting to know our way around the city.
So far we have taken two day trips with our group: one to Siena and the other to a wine tasting tour in Tuscany. Both trips were so much fun, despite the fact that it has rained every day here.
I most definitely have begun eating my way through this city. Each night my friends and I have indulged in gourmet meals and gelato. Some highlights included a fresh, homemade gluten free pizza at The Clubhouse for lunch and delicious eggplant Parmesan at Acqua al Due.
I have fallen in love with my go-to, never-failing meal: assorted grilled veggies with cheese, and white beans in tomato sauce. Both of these plates are served at pretty much every restaurant in Italy and you just can’t ever go wrong with them.
This weekend we are traveling to Rome so stay tuned for more updates!

My last few days in LA have been filled with walks in Santa Monica, yoga classes and trips to nearby museums. Last weekend I got to check out the LA Art Show which was so much fun! Here are some pieces I personally loved from the show as well as a few scenic photos from the week. Starting to get restless — only two more days to go!

Hi guys! My name is Savannah Freed and I'm a junior at the University of Michigan. However, this semester I will be studying at the Lorenzo de' Medici School through Wells College in Florence, Italy. A week from today I will embark on an incredible four month journey. Not only have I been given the opportunity to study in Florence, I also will get to explore several different countries during my stay.
