I was just wondering what recommendations you guys would make to someone who's never rped on a hp site before? I know you guys aren't the standard hp board, but it's still a little daunting with all of the canons and I really want to join! xD I have years of experience rping so apping/plotting won't be a problem but I wanted to ask for tips/suggestions since I would be jumping into a theme I've never delved into before. <3

Hi darling! I suppose my main recommendations would be familiarization with the HP world (which I expect you have!) and originality. HP sites can be daunting because there’s definitely a sentiment of “established fandom canon”, but we’re very much not about that-- we want everyone to create as original characters as possible.

If you’re not familiar with the HP world, not to worry! I’d suggest that you watch a few of the movies (particularly the first 3), just to familiarize yourself with the language and the world. HP roleplay is very much about taking the highly original world JKR has given us and creating even more with it. Building off of what we already have, if you will.

I’m speaking somewhat generally because I’m not too sure what particularly you’re concerned by, but if you want to talk to me one on one about your concerns, feel free to message me on my Skype (sirius.blaque) or AIM (cedrellablack).

hey! so i'm on the site rn and i have two questions! if i didn't participate in the contest, can we still register?? and the cbox isn't exactly working for me, i can't enter in any messages. love the site, super excited!!!

If you did not participate in our most recent challenge, we would prefer it if you could please wait to register until we officially release the site link tomorrow! We realize that the board is not difficult to find, but this soft opening is intended as a treat for members who did create content for the contest. Not only that, but allowing non-participants entry would effectively “open” the site a day earlier than most people have planned for, and would cheat them of more time on their reserves!

EDIT: My apologies, I completely forgot to address your problem with the cbox! Honestly, I’m not sure how to help you troubleshoot this, since it seems to be working fine for both the staff team and regular members. Might I suggest switching browsers, if you can, or maybe closing and reopening the one you’re using? If you still can’t use it tomorrow, message us on-site and we’ll see what we can do.

will there be a cut off for registration for canon competitions? if someone doesn't register their character for a few days, will it null and void the competition for said competitor? how will that work? thank you!

Hi! The reserves for canon competitions will expire when the first reserve runs out. Right now, as all of the reserves from the tumblr begin at the same time, they will end four days from Sunday (when the site officially opens). We have a 24 hour claim policy, so if the winner of the competition doesn’t make their claims within that time frame, then the competition will open up again for another time. Does that answer your question?? Let us know if it doesn’t!
