ideas for casual low-stress art projects if you want to work on something creative during the new year

dream journal: you can either write down every single dream you have so you can look back on everything, or just write down the best ones and add little drawings or collages to embellish them

weather blanket/scarf: create a legend for which colour matches each temperature/weather and then knit one row every day so by the end of the year you have a little reminder of what the weather looked like this year

junk journal/scrapbook: collect misc things like labels/ads/stickers/receipts and make little collages with them in a book

one video of you saying the name of the month you're in every month, edit them all together at the end of the year

write down the best thing that happened to you at the end of every week so at the end of the year you have 52 good memories to reflect on

pick a song at the end of every month that you listened to the most and burn them all onto a CD in December

make a different origami animal every day

get a sweater and embroider a little flower somewhere on it every day

temperature bracelets: instead of knitting/crocheting a row every day, make a bracelet for each month and add a different coloured bead for each day depending on the weather

statistics: record something like every time you sneezed, every cat you saw, every day it rained, every day you ate pasta, etc
