The Rookie used to be in the top 5 on Hulu the whole week until a new episode came out for like the last 2 seasons. Now it’s only ever at 8 for the first night then it’s gone out of the top 10. Looks like tons of people are done with the show and there’s nobody to blame but Alexi.

The Rookie storylines that need to die.

1. The Feds. The show was canceled for a reason. Stop bringing them back. As if they don’t already suck at prioritizing screen time for all the main characters.

2. Lucy’s bs undercover career. She’s been in like 3 documentaries on TV. She can’t do undercover work. Especially if she wanted a family with Tim. Isabel/Nyla was proof of that and Lucy is delusional if she thinks she’s the exception. She’s not.

3. Anything involving Bailey. Sick of her whole character. Honestly k*ll her off.

4. James willingly marrying a cop when he hates cops. — like dude.

Completely Washing My Hands Of It

This is likely the last post I will write about The Rookie until a “final season”, cancellation, or renewal announcement is made.

For a while I’ve been debating on whether to play Season 7 live or even play the episodes one the day after on Hulu to help numbers for the cast and crew.  However, they finally pushed me to the point of saying I’m completely done with the show and whatever happens, happens.  The more I read and the more interviews they do, the more it feels like they’re going backwards (with Chenford) and it makes no sense.  Especially going into Season 7.  A lot of what they’re talking about would’ve made absolute sense in Season 5A, but not now.  And I feel like they’re just catering to a small group of people who live off drama and messy.

I love the cast so much, but I’m done.

all recent interviews for S7 point to lucy chen getting paid dust for a second season in a row (fourth season if we’re being real) and i don’t know if i have it in me to watch her go through it again.

no promotion, but she will be temporarily training a rookie who will most likely be putting her in situations that might get her in trouble (clown incident anyone?) which will again deter her road to promotion.

melissa says in a recent interview that the stakes for lucy take a bit of a backseat this season, which to me sounds like she’s getting pushed to the sidelines AGAIN. she’ll most likely still be there to support everyone else though AND she’ll probably be helping tim a lot even though he did her so dirty and should be grovelling. we won’t be seeing her navigate the aftermath of everything she went through last season ON SCREEN because alexi wants to give that precious screen-time to other characters.

alexi wanted to go into S7 with positivity, because you can’t really focus on timmy b’s beautiful mental health storyline if lucy’s still upset about timmy dumping her for absolutely no reason, right?

we’ll spend S7 watching the man that broke her heart go through therapy, have some character development and possibly be happy, but her? we might not even get to see any of her sl play out, we’ll probably get a scene of her making that cute exasperated thing she does, if we’re lucky.

so much for not making lucy a doormat to everyone on this show and giving her back her agency, right alexi?

so Chenford officially aren’t getting back together this season which is what I called all along they did this bs breakup storyline just to try and guarantee more seasons.

I hope this show gets canceled after this season. Chenford is ruined anyway so let the rest of the show die now too. Good riddance 👋🏽
