French Quarter
Tchefuncte River. Thought we would only spend 3-4 hours out here but my roommate and I let the sky get dark. I got to see the top of an alligator’s head and at the same time yelled at the top of my lungs to persuade someone not to jump in to wrestle it. Thankfully he didn’t but I think that had more to do with the alligator sinking into the water. Louisiana is a special place and the sunset I got to see reflecting in this water was i n c r e d i b l e.

Nature is crazy
Everything in NOLA invites the mind to something disquieting. How the trees look as if they’re reaching out for you, how the tops look like veins or roots against the sky.
First day of work.
First night on Bourbon Street.
Already feels like home.
Taking random exits while driving through Texas (thought I would never get out of Texas), rolling my windows down, and blasting “May as Well” by Angel Olsen.
First roll of film developed ✨
Equipped with my first ever shitty picture of the stars!
Mobile, AL. Sunday night.
Everything is so spread out: houses, shops, and people. If you turn off the head lights on your car at night while driving it’s suddenly pitch black. That bit is a little unnerving. There’s room to breathe. There’s room to run. When I first rolled my windows down the warmth enveloped me, it was so engrossing it was instantly comfortable. At least right now. I’ve counted 7 mosquito bites just on my ankles. I slept for 12 hours. An Alabama sun I could be blinded by and be happy 10/10.
