Immediately after his execution on December 30, 1896, Philippine National Hero Rizal was buried in an unmarked grave here in Paco Park Cemetery. He was exhumed here on August 17, 1898, and placed in an Urn and on December 30, 1912, buried under his Monument in Luneta Park.
