Animation Project: Doing Nothing by Janine Malaca

This is an animation of repetitive boredom. As an art student I often have times where I don’t know what to do and that ends with wasting a lot of time. Basically procrastination and a lot of tendencies to get distracted. In this video there is a repetitive action of opening and closing the book, displaying the monotonous object and the idea of wasting time to be creative.

The idea of taking the different kinds of rants and problems that art students have based on twitter feeds of @artstdntproblems and also other fellow students. In this form that it’s taking place, the author is removed reinforcing the anonymity of who this art student is, but rather placing all of this problem situations relative to all art students.
