EDGE 905, composed of 12 artists from the GTA and London, ON. The opening night of the show was overwhelming with success and a very humbling experience I got to share with my fellow artists, my group of friends and family.
For my first group show I learned a lot about team work and perseverance. It is not easy as it looks to put a show together, you learn valuable things about others and also about yourself. I learned that I can’t do everything myself, it’s better to ask for help. When you ask, it doesn’t hurt. You actually don’t lose anything, you just gain. I also learned that I am anal. I like things perfect, but sometimes that is also a fault and a line needs to be drawn to that anal factor. It is also in this experience that I learned that when you put your hard work into it and your passion, it will manifest through others and that it will be appreciated.
It’s not always easy to be confident at what you love doing because of the differences that the world contains. Though each day we get up and we face the world, we just have to tell ourselves that other’s opinion doesn’t validate who we are. It is what we think and believe in ourselves matters the most. As my new favoured quote says “It is more important to be of pure intention than of perfect action.”- Ilyas Kassam, your personal growth matters on your honesty and humble decisions.
I want to thank you my professors who continuously believe in their students, without them there wouldn’t be young artists pushing themselves to be the best they could be.

Ruznic is interested in exploring memories, from her childhood and current experiences. She depicts scenes of memories through drawing and painting. She explores the memories of her own and the stories that she heard in "My Bosnia/My Love" she untangles the horrific memories that made her fled her home country (Bosnia). She exemplifies reflection of her childhood and a response to the stories she heard by depicting abstract figures and landscapes.
INUKSHUK AND FLOWER POT at Tobermory Bruce Peninsula, Lake Huron.
The inukshuk are made by visitors by piling flat rocks found on the shore of the Flowerpot Island.
TOBERMORY BRUCE PENINSULA ONTARIO
These are my original shots using my Nikon Fm10 with 35mm colour Kodak film ISO 200.
My first time in Tobermory and it was a wonderful experience! The place is full of history and adventures to be discovered. My trip to Tobermory with my family and friends on a one day trip, we were able to see two out of five Fathoms of the National Park. We saw the submerged shipwrecks along the coast of the Georgian Bay, there lies two shipwrecks under the aqua-blue icecold water. The freezing cold water all year round allows the ships to be preserved. On our boat ride we were dropped at the Flowerpot Island where lies the beauty of rock formations. There are two flower pots, one small and a large one. On my trip I was able to learn a bit of geography about the Niagara escarpment. A valuable information I have missed, when I marvel to the beauty of Niagara Falls.
We also visited the Visitor Centre which I found the most educational in my trip. I must admit I doubted going inside the building, but I’m so glad my dad told us to go inside. In there we watched a fifteen minute movie about the Fathom Five. You can read about it on their website: Tobermory.com, there are a lot of beautiful history to discover and I really want to go back and see the wonders of it all. I’m grateful for my dad for pushing educational stuff in my brain and that I get to learn in the most fun way, always encouraging to read information about the places we visit.
I’m blessed with an awesome family and friends to create wonderful memories with.
Oh and did you know those pile of rocks are called inukshuks, I learned that today. Pretty cool. Haha.
Poor people stay poor because they do arts degrees.

Poor people stay poor because other artists have allowed the industry to degrade to a level that people drastically undervalue art. In graphic arts, an independent artist typically makes below minimum wage. So many people take advantage of starting out and struggling artists, that they offer “exposure” as compensation. Or a hideously low rate. I have had people offer to pay me just $5/page for color work. And they saw nothing wrong with this offer. This is for something that I typically spend 4-6 hours per page on. And there are artists out there so desperate for ANY money, they will accept those offers. And thus perpetuate the idea that this is okay.
No, poor people aren’t poor because they take art degrees. They’re poor because there are entitled assholes who take advantage of them so they can turn a bigger profit.
Art is everywhere. Try to imagine a world without it. Without graphics. Without font design. Without logos. Everything done in the same, bland typefaces, with no images and no sense of color. Artists are more than people who sit and make pretty pictures. They are what gives companies an image, an identity. So why are they treated like the lowest possible rank?

There’s something about circles and type face that I gravitate towards. So mediocre and so #captainobvious for the choice of words I have slapped on these images, but I love them like that. I somehow see these on a crewneck or even just a plain white tee. It’ll be cool, at least I think so. Haha.
This piece is forever gone, no seriously I don’t know where it is. And I added more to this…but anyway these are series of ink drawings mixed with other medium such as pencil crayons, and graphite pencil. Each drawings began with simple line markings and gradually building each to a certain desire. I then go back to each of them to add a layer of black ink in dry and wet brush techniques. This way I have created a layer of abstract images, where you are able to see some colours from the pencil crayons through the transparency and the lines of each brush strokes.
I’m just gonna dump this one over here
