The pali settlement of Squeevil was recently destroyed by a tornado. Should they remain in the same location by the great lake or move to a new one before they rebuild?
The Palis in Squeevill collected 8 food before a tornado ripped through and destroyed their freshly built settlement. The two are devastated to see their hard work destroyed so quickly and are questioning whether they should move to a new location to rebuild. Adam and Eve eat in silence after the tragedy leaving them with 6 food in storage
The kangahen is a bird with long ears and tail. It defends itself with its antlers and short tusks. It carries its young in a pouch and hangs on to branches with its hand-like feet. The kangahen is known to use its opposable thumbs to use simple tools
And so the first animal was created and was dubbed the kangahen by the GM
the results of their creation are as follows
The kangahen is a bird with long ears and tail. It defends itself with its antlers and short tusks. It carries its young in a pouch and hangs on to branches with its hand-like feet. The kangahen is known to use its opposable thumbs to use simple tools
There will be two main units of time measurement, turns and days
a turn is every time a poll is given and will last 3 days each, meanwhile, some dice rolls will occur daily regardless of what the current turn is doing
Some turns will overlap depending on what they do. For example, a turn to vote on making an intelligent species could overlap with a poll to make an animal as the two do not interfere with each other
Rolls
to add an aspect of randomness to the game, sometimes the game master (GM) will roll dice to determine certain outcomes based on a roll table (see roll tables here). Whatever number the die lands on corresponds to and entry on the table
If you'd like to suggest additional entries to add to a table simply send in an ask with your suggestion
There is a 3 daily rolls the GM makes. One roll determines if a couple has a baby, this roll is repeated for all couples until the population of the settlement reaches 50, in which case, for the GM's sanity, couples will be ignored. Instead, the game master will halve the total population of the settlement and roll that many dice
The second roll determines how much food is produced by each settlement
The third roll determines a random event that will occur per settlement. Such as extra food being gathered or a natural disaster occurring
Food
The amount of food a settlement produces per day is Xd6-1 with X being the population of the settlement. After food is gathered, food is consumed. The amount of food eaten is equal to the population number. So if there are 30 settlers then 30 food will be eaten that day. If there is not enough food available to feed the entire population then 1d6 number of settlers will starve to death each day until there is enough food gathered to feed everyone.
No Poll Replies
As voted upon in this poll
if ever a poll to create an animal gets no responses to it, the GM will add normal deer to the world
so at the moment there aren't any responses to the animal creation poll, there is still time for people to take the poll of course, but in the event that none come in-
we should:
add no animal, zero responses = zero animals created
