Favor from the Don
(following this piece - x )
After the troll had left, Jazali stole a glance around the place and couldn’t help but let out a low whistle; it had been a while since she had been to a proper Don’s house. The first floor wasn’t overly lavish, but it was certainly a well accommodated room with fine brown cushioned chairs and a dark tawny carpet flooring that stretched throughout the room. There was also a large fireplace to the right that was alight, no doubt for warmth since the golden chandelier centering the room provided most of the light. Stairs lay across the room, climbing toward the second floor. But from where Jazali was, she could only see a few bookshelves lining the walls which were made from mahogany wood, the dark red colour creating an enclosing and ominous effect.
Around the room were other trolls as well, all were of different shapes and sizes; Jazali could’ve sworn that she even saw an Amani or two. There were three to the right sitting on some lounge chairs playing cards, two were standing by the fireplace conversing and another few were standing by the doors, as if guarding the way to other rooms. However they all paused in their current activity and glanced up at the two visitors. Some soon went back to whatever they were doing, others were still staring suspiciously at the two. More so at Moki than Jazali. Moki had to duck down to keep his horns from bumping into the chandelier as he and Jazali wandered near the stairs, where two orc lackeys stood guard.
She smirked amusedly at the two orcs, who simply stared ahead with blank faces. Jazali tilted her head at one of them, wondering if they ever moved out of their own free will. To test her theory, she finger gunned at one of them and clicked her tongue, mimicking the sound of a fired shot before she sniggered and continued to look around the place…until Moki smacked her upside the head.
He grabbed one of her ears with an irritated glare and hissed “Would you please stop messing around and take this more seriously!” before tensely glancing around the room and the intimidating occupants around it who had yet to take their eyes off him. Moki had no problem with trolls; it was just that they usually had a problem with him, specifically him and his large set of threatening horns.
Jazali glared back at him and rubbed her offended ear, hissing back “Will YOU please stop worryin yaself and calm down?! Ah told ya it’ll be fine, mah famileh did business wid dis guy before!”
Moki rolled his eyes and snorted cynically, somehow doubting that it would all go as smoothly as Jazali predicted. No sooner did he think that did the Drakkari female come back down the steps.
She folded her hands in front of her and nodded “Don Sowdi will see you now.”
Jazali’s eyes widened and she looked back at Moki with a surprised grin, who shrugged back at her with a rather surprised expression. Well, Jazali knew that maybe the Don Sowdi would see them, but she didn’t think he would see them now on short notice! The two both started to walk up the steps, until the female troll pressed her hand against Moki’s chest.
