Monkey Business and Bringing Home Work - I have a piece in two group exhibitions opening at Giant Robot this weekend on January 23rd. The first is Year of the Monkey at GR2. It’s an annual show celebrating the lunar new year. At Giant Robot the show is called Weirdos. It’s about our weird favorite animals. Pelicans are definitely weirdos. Both shows are chock full of amazing artists. More information here.

This is another custom order ketubah. The couple wanted several very specific symbols included. I worked around the parameters to put together a design that’s coherent and also includes everything. Making ketubot like this is particularly rewarding. Not only are they a challenge (this one has 11 layers of paper), but this type of design also holds so much meaning. A ketubah is a wonderful physical representation of the marriage, but a ketubah that includes so many personal items is also a celebration of the life together they had before they got married. This will be a reminder of the key moments in the life they built together.
