So apparently the band is releasing their own very rad poster for the Halloween show, but I made my own anyway a few days ago, to serve as a cover for Ty's book of "Some Frights" lyrics.

If you're going to be at the Portland show this Wednesday feel free to shoot me a message, I'll print a copy of it for you! They're not free though, I operate on a treat-for-treat system so you are going to have to bring me one piece of any type of candy >:)

(Unless the hurricane prevents me from attending the show. Which would suck. But we'll see!)

hey! I just wnated you to ask how exactly you're making these drawings? On a graphic tablet? Would love to know that! :) they're absolutely stunning, keep it up!

Thanks! I sketch the orginal by hand, scan it, and color it in Photoshop CS3 using a Wacom Bamboo tablet. (both of which are waaaaay outdated)

It's been almost a week since I started giving them away and in the time since I have mailed over 120 envelopes to as many as 10 different countries. But alas I am out of stamps and I need to get back to spending more time on drawing and less on writing addresses, so I'm closing up shop! Thanks for understanding :)

If you've already sent me a message and haven't gotten back to me with the rest of the info, rest assured that I've still saved some stickers for you! Just please get back to me asap! 

Also sorry if I sent anyone a message twice or did anything else to make me look really dumb, there were a ton of orders to keep track of.

I haven’t ever been in love with a band like I am with this one so I don’t know how it compares but it just seems so beautifully two-sided. Like, we love them and they love us and they share ridiculous things with us like Jail Dinner and STILL take the time to come out after shows even though jeez they don’t owe us that, they just put on an amazing show and all they probably want is to sleep but instead there they are, talking to their fans and listening to how their music has touched them and just UUUGH I CAN’T. SERIOUSLY. This is the reason I do so much art for them. Because they see it. And they let me know that they’ve seen it and hang up an honest to god poster that I made on their bus for an entire tour and wear shirts and bracelets that fans have made. And it just. I don’t know. It’s the same reason why I love their music so much. Because one of their strongest messages that resonates with me is that it’s alright to care about things. It’s alright to feel like a mess and to miss your family and just fucking cry about things. Which is so much the opposite of what a lot of other parts of our culture tells us, that emotions are something dirty and that the last thing we should ever do is let people find out we care about things. But fun. is like, Nate Ruess being unable to contain his smiles onstage every goddamn night. It’s Jack hearing us when we say how difficult it has become to get tickets to their shows and sharing our frustration. It’s Andrew wrapping his arms around an overwhelmed fan after a show and not being the slightest bit impatient when they can barely muster up the courage to ask for a picture.

hi i am just wondering if you are going to be sending out confirmations that you received the requests. I am just asking because I know how crappy tumblr is about getting fan mail and messages to people.

Good question. I don't like responding right away to the messages (unless I need to ask for more info) because it slows down my process a lot and can get confusing in terms of who ordered what when. However! I'm going to try and reply to people once their stickers are mailed to let them know to check their mail!

I didn't know fanmail had restrictions about sending mail regarding how long you've been following this blog (but should I really by surprised? fuckin tumblr) so if you are unable to send me fanmail with your sticker request info, good old ask messages are fine too :)

STICKER PARTY PART TWO!!!!

Do you want stickers? You probably do. And now's your chance! They are ~*~FREE~*~  It's actually easier if you send me a fanmail message instead of an ask with the information. You'll need to include the following:

Which stickers you would like.

Your name.

Your mailing address. (And yes international is OK)

If you are uncomfortable giving a person on the internet your address (which I can understand), maybe it'll make you feel a little better to browse the paperfun tag and see all the happy people to whom I already sent stickers.

Please allow up to 2 weeks for me to get all these out, I'm not sure what the demand will be but I have a feeling it will be more than last time. If I hit a limit when I can't accept any more requests I'll make a post on this tumblr and edit this post.

Are you selling your prints anywhere? I don't have a citibank card, but I would still seriously love to be able to have some of your fun. posters and also maybe some of your other illustrations in my room.

I'm actually planning to start selling prints very soon! I've just got a few projects I'm trying to get out of the way first, so I can devote time to printing and mailing posters. I'll make an announcement about it here soon enough, hopefully next week. And thanks!
