Another option for future tastemakers is The Day the Crayons Quit written by Drew Daywalt and illustrated by Oliver Jeffers.  It features a box of crayons gone rogue: blue is exhausted, pink wants more paper time, yellow and orange demand to know the true color of the sun, green is happy with his workload of crocodiles, trees, and dinosaurs while peach wants to know why his wrapper was torn off leaving him naked.

Author Ben Schott's book glorifies weird new German words for the human condition.  My favorites are gastdruck (the exhausting effort of being a good houseguest) and entlistungsfreude (the satisfaction achieved of crossing things off lists).

Taro Miura, the Japanese children's book illustrator behind "Tools" and "Ton", has a new story out called "The Tiny King".  Appropriate for any and all progeny of the design-minded.

Cannot wait to get my hands on this new book.  It's built around essays and extended interviews with the director, but I'm most excited for the aesthetics — visual mementos from the seven films as well as new illustrations for each from Max Dalton. A little preview awaits below:

Love a luscious letterpress invitation, especially when its one-of-a-kind deco design heralds the wedding of my friends Katie and Jesse.  Best part?  The ceremony and reception exceeded all expectations and would have made Gatsby proud.
