PARA-PARASiTOSiS {P-PS}

es my projecto de horror ciencia ficción supernatural sobre fantasmas, psíquicos, médiums, y parásitos! (Y también un montón de anhelo lesbico...) El horror corporal/biológico, vicera y cosas por el estilo son temas principales en esta obra, incluyendo descripciones detalladas, imágenes y visuales, en cuanto al arte visual. La historia sera narrada a través de guiones de 30 páginas, pero como soy principalmente artista visual, habrá una gran cantidad de desarrollo y contenido visual (dibujos, cómics). No tengo ningún deseo que esto se convierta en una serie de verdad, está es solo mi manera de conceptualizar mi mundo.

is my science fiction slash supernatural screenplay project about ghosts, psychics, mediums, parasites and clones! And lots of lesbian yearning… The story is very body horror centric, gore and things within in that realm, including graphic descriptions, imagery, and visuals in the case of artwork. The story will be officially told through 30pg screenplays, but there will be a lot of visual development/extra materials (drawings, comics) as I am majorly a visual artist. I have no desire for this to turn into a real series, this is just my way of conceptualizing my universe.

Dato curioso: Celia amas las películas slasher! Como no usa el internet, ella tiene todas sus películas en formato físico.

Celia es una mujer obsesionada con la seguridad física. En las mentes de la humanidad regular, ella es solo una dueña de tienda de esquina, tosca y cangri, por pasar tantas situaciones difíciles. Y asimismo tan amable para añadirte descuentos arbitrarios a la compra de uno compra cuando uno está pasando por un día malo. Todo lo anterior es cierto, pero hay más razones porque es tal como es. Tras el asesinato de su padre, Celia se puso a trabajar a desentererar a una grande teoría de conspiración. Algo que explique la aparición de los parásitos, la muerte de su padre, su propia infection de parásito, y como Estrella encaja con todo esto. Este projecto le ha costado muchos años, largas horas de investigación, y muchas veces su propio bienestar físico.

En su sótano, Celia ha preparado su estación que parece ser un set de películas de asesino en serie. Con la tela de plástico cubriendo los muebles, herramientas de cirugía, y dos grandes frizers. Y bueno, ella si es una carnicera. Le fascina estudiar los parásitos, y más de eso... comercelos, un hábito que apareció después de contrae a aquello parásito que ella rehúsa nombrar. A diferencia de su novia, Marisol, Celia cree en enfrentar el peligro, frequentemente a puños y rajadas. Pero también sabe cuándo se debe huir. De hecho, su necesidad por estar preparada para cualquier situación peligrosa se origina de un miedo intenso a perder a las personas que más ama y a la muerte en si. Esto se convierte en una neurosis autodestructiva que causa peleas con las personas que precisamente estaba tratando de proteger. Una de esas personas que no cree en la psiquiatría ni en los médicos, claro está. Que pues es interesante si consideras de que años atrás ella misma fue una profesional de la salud.

Fun fact: Celia loves slasher movies! Since she doesn't use the internet, she owns everything physically.

Celia is a woman obsessed with physical security. She's regarded by her community as a simple corner shop owner, rough around the edges, and a permanent grimace etched on her face. While at the same time, kind enough to throw in a bogus discount whenever you've had a bad day. All true, but this is just what she presents to the world. After her father's murder, Celia went to work on a grand conspiracy theory. One that would explain the presence of parasites, her father's wrongful death, her own parasitic infections and how Estrella fits into all of this. This project took many years, long hours and many times, her own blood. Now that her work is finished, Celia plans to enact her revenge.

In her basement, Celia has prepared her station that looks straight out of a serial killer movie. Plastic covered furniture, surgery tools, and two big freezers. And well, it's not like she's not a butcher. She's fascinated by the study of parasites, but more than that...eating them, a habit that kicked in whenever she contracted the parasite she refuses to name. Opposite to her girlfriend, Marisol, Celia believes in confronting danger head on, frequently with punches and slashes. But she also knows when it's time to flee. Actually, her need to be prepared for danger originates from her intense fear of losing her loved ones, and death itself. This becomes a self destructive paranoia that only causes conflict with the exact people she wished to protect. Her paranoia has made it so she doesn't believe in many things anymore. Not therapy, or any medical professional for that matter. Which is interesting considering she used to be one herself years ago.

Es una mujer que parece estar en completo control de su vida. Ella es organizada, alegre y sobre todo tiene un buen trabajo como estilista de su propia sala de belleza. Sus clientas la bautizan por su atención y su personalidad acogedora. Simplemente ese tipo de esas caras que hace que la gente le cuente la historia de su vida sin provocación. Y si bien, ella es así por la mayor parte, pero también padece de mucha ansiedad. La peor cosa para ella es el "no saber". No saber dónde está Celia cuando no avisa donde va, no saber cómo se siente Beladona (hija biológica), no saber qué estará haciendo Estrella cuando no llega a casa. Igual tiene el defecto de embotellar sus emociones negativas hasta no aguantar más.

Marisol es una gran amante del DIY. Además de las manualidades, le gusta coser y personalizar su propia ropa. Su closet es un cofre de tesoro lleno de piezas únicas.

Antes de mudarse a Puerto Rico, Marisol ya en sí tuvo una vida dura e infeliz con su hija y quien era su ex-esposa en Ceará, cuando ocurrió un evento trágico y sobrenatural que cambió sus vidas para siempre. Bela apenas lo recuerda pero Marisol presenció todo. Ella vive cargando con ese trauma y se rehúsa a buscar ayuda ni admitir que algo está mal en primer lugar. Como su novia, Marisol se preocupa por la "seguridad" de su familia, pero tienen mentalidades opuestas. Ella considera que la mejor defensa es bajar la cabeza y nunca enfrentarse al conflicto. Pero, de no ser posible, Mari está comprometida a proteger a su familia con sus propias manos, sea lo que sea. Extrañamente, no le molesta para nada lo sanguinaria que es Celia, solo el peligro que tales actividades podrían atraer a sí misma y a las hijxs. Por esto y temas similares se han discutido muchas veces. Últimamente, aunque se amen muchísimo, la seguridad es demasiado importante para Marisol, incluso más importante que su relación.

Marisol no tiene nada de poderes, ni parásito como el resto de su familia, pero ella siempre ha tenido una afinidad por lo espiritual. Ella es Umbandista, y parte de esa práctica conlleva comunicarse con entidades, lo que incluye muertos (antepasados). También ha tenido estas corazonadas o adivinanzas que casi siempre se cumplen. Un ejemplo que no la ayuda con sus preocupaciones en absoluto, es su habilidad de pensar en alguien y saber por instinto que están en peligro…

Marisol loves DIY. Aside from crafts, she likes to sew and customize her own clothing. Her closet is a treasure chest full of one of a kind pieces.   

Marisol is a woman that appears to have everything together. She's organized, cheerful and overall has a great job as the stylist of her own beauty parlor. Her clients praise her for her attention and her warm personality. She just has one of those faces that people make expose their lives stories without prompting. And yeah, she is like that for the most part, but she actually suffers from a ton of anxiety. The worst part of it for her are the questions. Not knowing where Celia is, not knowing how Beladona (biological daughter) and not knowing what Estrella is doing when she doesn't come home. She also has the defect of bottling up her emotions until she blows up. 

Before moving to Puerto Rico, Marisol had already experienced a difficult and unhappy life with her daughter and would be ex-wife in Ceará, when something tragic and supernatural happened that would change their lives from then on. Bela barely remembers, but Marisol recalls everything. She lives carrying the trauma and she refuses to seek help or admit anything is wrong in the first place. Like her girlfriend, she also worries about her family's safety, but they have opposite mentalities about it. She considers putting your head down and never exposing yourself to conflict to be the best strategy. But if it's unavoidable, Mari is willing to fight for her own, come what may. Strangely, she isn't bothered at all by Celia's bloodthirst, only the fact that her activities naturally attract danger to herself and their children. This is something that has caused a lot of arguments between them. Ultimately, even if they love each other a lot, safety is incredibly important for Marisol, even more than their relationship.

Marisol doesn't have any powers nor a parasite like the rest of her family, but she's always had a sort of affinity for the spiritual. She is an adept of Umbanda and part of that is communicating with entities, some which are dead (spirits that used to be human). She has also had gut feelings and guesses that almost always come true.  An example of this, that doesn't help her worries at all, is the ability to think of someone and intuitively know when they're in danger....

CAMILO SILVA MENDOZA

Un gran misántropo con grandes vibras patéticas. Es el completo opuesto de Estrella: ansiedad social, introvertido, con muchos complejos. Elle es su únice amiga, se conocieron desde 12 años atrás en la escuela, pero ese mismo año dejaron de hablar.

Lo que ocurrió fue esto: Eran dos jóvenes de 15 y 16 con una conexión muy, pero muy intensa, sin etiquetas, cuando Camilo se vio obligado a mudarse a los Estados Unidos. Ocurre un malentendido, y desde ese día paran de hablar. Sin ella, el chico se deterioró, ya había estado solo antes, pero nunca se pudo recuperar de la pérdida. Ahora que se vuelven a ver, sus viejos, torpes sentimientos han vuelto a inundar su cabeza. Afortunadamente para él, desde su nacimiento ha padecido de la "maldición" de ser psíquico, poder usar telekinesis y leer pensamientos ajenos, por eso sabe que Estrella comparte sus sentimientos.

El único obstáculo es él mismo... Y los monstruos que andan por ahí, a los cuales él nunca les puede perder el terror. Experiencia horrorosa tras experiencia horrorosa, la muerte se acerca... El será el primero en admitir que es un cobarde. Pero si Camilo tiene empeño en algo, es el hecho que jamás va a volver a dejar a Estrella atrás. Aunque ella misma le de miedo a veces.

A Camilo le gusta pasar su tiempo libre dibujando cómics, un pasatiempo adecuado para un individuo tan solitario como él. Las opiniones de sus padres y sus propias inseguridades lo ha convertido en una persona avergonzada de las cosas que le gustan. Sin embargo, el tema que por años lo mantuvo caminando hacia delante fue la creación de su propio cómic titulado: "Los extraños casos de la investigadora paranormal Heavenly Ange." Pero recientemente, ha perdido esto también. Tras un desastre en su edificio de trabajo, Camilo descubrió que su obsesión ha causado que el personaje titular de su cómic cobrara vida (y introdujo una molestia voladora a SU vida).

CAMILO SILVA MENDOZA is a big misanthrope with big loser energy. He's the complete opposite of Estrella: being socially anxious, introverted. They're his only friend too, since he left the town 12 years ago. Long story short, they were teenagers with an intense unlabeled thing going on when Camilo was forced to move away, and after a misunderstanding, never spoke to each other again. Camilo deteriorated, he had already been lonely before them, but losing Estrella was a blow he could never recover from. Now that he's back, his huge stupid feelings for her came flooding in. Fortunately, since birth he's been "Cursed" to be a psychic: with the power of telekinesis and mind-reading, Camilo knows the feelings are mutual.

The real only obstacle is himself, and the monsters running around town which he can never get used to. Harrowing encounter after another, death seems to come ever nearer... He will be the first to admit that he's a wimp, but if there's something he's confident about, it's that he won't ever leave Estrella again. Even if they, themself, scare him at times.

Camilo is a comic artist, which seems natural for a solitary individual like him. Parental disapproval and insecurity has made him ashamed of his interests. Yet for years now, the only thing that's kept him going was the development of his first proper comic: "The Strange Cases of Paranormal Investigator, Heavenly Ange", but recently, even that has been ripped away from him. After a disaster at his previous place of work, Camilo discovered that his obsession has culminated in the creation of the comic's titular character coming to life (and the introduction of an annoying pest to HIS life)

ESTRELLA ROELAS ROMÁN Es una romántica incurable, y una persona bien conocida por Atabey. Como una mesera/empleada de casa, ella sueña con ser una gran estrella de música, y encontrar a ese "VERDADERO AMOR" que tanto desea. No ha tenido mucha suerte con lo segundo, ella suele ser un poco (mucho) crédula...pero ella sigue buscando por todo Puerto Rico con la esperanza que algún día, encontrará a ese sujeto, se enamorarán, y estarán juntos para siempre. O por lo menos un par de meses.

La gente le describiría como una persona inocente, inofensive, e habladore, un típico "libro abierto". La mayoría es cierto, excepto que Estrella si tiene un lado escalofriante y contradictorio. Uno nunca pensaría que la misma persona que se esforzaría tanto para complacer a personas que la trataron horrible, también podría matar sin perder ni un segundo de sueño. Por más simpática que sea, buena no es. Como persona que conversa con los muertos, Estella no le teme a la muerte, ni teme proporcionarla. Su actitud ante ella se debe solamente a elle, porque Ratita, su parásito, no está para nada de acuerdo.

ESTRELLA ROELAS ROMÁN Is a hopeless romantic, and just about the most well known person in Atabey. As a waitress/housekeeper, she dreams of one day making it big in the music world, and finding her "ONE TRUE LOVE". She hasn't had that much luck with the latter, she can be a bit (a lot) naive...but she keeps going out all around Puerto Rico in the hopes that one of these days she'll meet a nice someone, they'll fall in love, and be together until they die. Or more than a couple of months at least.

People would describe them as being gullible, non-confrontational, chatty... just your typical open book. Which is mostly true, but Estella does have a startling, contradictory side to them. You'd never guess that the same person who'd bend over backwards for people who treat them badly, could also kill without losing a wink of sleep. As nice as they may be, they are not kind. As someone who speaks to the dead, Estrella doesn't fear facing it nor perpetuating it. Her laxness towards murder could be attributed to her parasite, but her lack of fear of death is definitely an Estrella thing, as Ratita, their parasite, vehemently disagrees on the matter.
