1875 wurde das Deckengemälde von Reuni gemalt. Die vorliegende Arbeit ist eine Studie für das Gremium mit dem Titel Minerva Combattant La Force Brutale Devant L'Olympe und repräsentiert Merkur. Merkur mit seinem geflügelten Helm und in der fertigen Version trägt er seine ebenso ikonischen geflügelten Sandalen.
Eines der schönsten Bilder, weil der Junge so bildhübsch ist. Der Körper ist perfekt und sein Gesicht ist auf einer Art frech und doch smart. Ich geh davon aus, das dieses Model wirklich so hübsch anzusehen war wie auf dem Bild gemalt. Würde ich ihn heute so begegnen, wäre ich hoffnungslos verliebt. Wie oben in der Info zu lesen ist, wurde das Gemälde in Paris angefertigt. Ein Fransose? Viva la france (lol) rho.
