Elizabeth Taylor photographed by Mark Shaw for LIFE magazine at the Beverly Hills Hotel wearing her Oscars finery on April 16th, 1961. Elizabeth wore a Christian Dior gown called "Soiree a Rio" from Dior’s Spring-Summer 1961 Haute Couture collection to collect the Best Actress Academy Award she won for her performance in BUtterfield 8 at the ceremony. For unknown reasons, the beautiful photos Shaw took of Elizabeth wearing the gown weren't published by LIFE at the time, not appearing in print until many years later.

The Documentary film of Merchant Ivory(2023) directed by Stephen Soucy is on its way of Global Premiere. Firstly Nov. 11th and 12th in New York. I found a lot of black and white photos of James' attending the 45th Cannes International Film Festival in the film. Never seen them before...
