Top 3 Horror Movie Adaptations.

1. Let The Right One In/ Let Me In. (Låt den rätte komma in)

Originally published in 2004, John Ajvide Lindqvist book ‘Let The Right One In’ is truly one of the more scary books I’ve read in my time. In this case, the book is much better than the either movie adaptations, but the movies are still worth the watch as they capture the macabre essences of this book well. 

Description: Oskar a twelve-year-old outcast finds himself in an odd situation when he befriends new neighbor Eli. 

2. The Haunting of Hill House/The Haunting 

Originally published 1959, Shirley Jackson’s gothic fiction ‘The Haunting of Hill House’ is one of those books that will forever stick with me. The 1963 movie adaptation is said to be one of the best horror films of all time, however, the 1999 remake is really terrible and not worth the watch. 

Description:  Dr. Montague hopes to find scientific evidence of the paranormal in the eighty-one-year-old mansion that was built by late Hugh Crain. 

3. Psycho 

Published in 1959,  Robert Bloch’s thriller ‘Pyscho’ is still well known and causing nightmares to this day. Let’s be honest I would be crazy if I were to say the 1998 adaptation is better than the legendary 1960′s Alfred Hitchcock version. 

Description: Norman Bates and his controlling mother run a motel in small town Fairville, but things go wrong when a woman on the run stays the night at their motel.
