What resources would you like to see for secular witchcraft?
Hello everyone. I’ve not been as active recently as I’d like. I’ve decided, though, that I’m going to start a sort of personal blogging project on the subject of beginner information for secular witches.
Basically, I’m inviting questions or ideas for topics that I might address, and then I’ll be writing based on those and posting it, hopefully eventually compiling it into a masterpost for secular beginners. I’ve already got some notes on some things I’ll be writing about, but I am definitely open to suggestions, so feel free to send me an ask or message with a topic you would like addressed.
Of course, though, I must note that this will mostly only be from my own perspective, and since witchcraft is so individual, what I’m going to be writing may or may not resonate with everyone, but I believe this is a useful enterprise for me to take up.
A little question on your Grimoire: have you divided it into specific "areas" e.g. 'sigils' 'spells', etc., or are you filling it up as you go? If yes for the first one, how did you go about with it? *wants to make a nice, hand-written, organized grimoire but doesn't know how to start with it*
Hi @koivunkukka ~ to answer your question, I just fill up my grimoire as I go and then fill in an index atthe back so I can find everything. I tried having a grimoire that was organisedinto sections but I found that I was not able to predict how many pages I wouldneed for each section. I would overflow in some sections and then not fillothers.
If you are planning on having sections in a bound book, putall your information in a binder first and then once it’s full – transcribe itinto the bound book page by page (and leave a page or two in each section forany extra info you may find). That way you will know exactly the number ofpages each section will be!
I hope this helps!

Aw, Hell Chapter 2
“What the hell were you thinking back there, Y/N?” Dean scolded as you sat sulking in the backseat of the Impala.
“I don’t know, Dean. I made a poor life choice, I screwed up, what exactly do you want me to say?” you argued back.
Dean had always had your back and typically you were quite grateful for it, but when he went into overprotective ‘big-brother’ mode, sometimes it just rubbed you the wrong way.
You could practically hear him rolling his eyes and he let out an exasperated sigh. “You scared us half to death with that text and we come in guns a blazin’ only to find you about to do the horizontal hokey-pokey with freaking Crowley” Dean continued.
“’Horizontal hokey-pokey, Dean?” Sam questioned with a laugh.

Working on a new pic with Amber & Ayo, things are gonna get pretty gothic around here!
I wanted to try to use @qedavathegrey‘s sigil/seal making method (clearly I am not as good as them, haha) to make an invoking sigil for Bast. Here are a list of symbols I used and why:
The Moon - Most people see Bast as a Solar deity (myself as well, actually) but especially after she became compared to the goddess Artemis, as well as how she would hunt at night under the moon, protecting pharaohs and her father Ra from a god of chaos, I wanted to add this in. It also goes to represent a theme Bast has taught me in my time working with her; the idea of complexity, and being able to be multi-faceted.
Sol - I used the symbol of the sun, Sol, to symbolize her connection to Ra and as a deity who was originally associated more with solar energies.
Fire - I used the elemental symbol (the upright triangle) for fire, as Bast is often seen as a goddess of passion, pleasure, and embodies the intensity of the element of fire.
Female symbol - The well-recognized symbol for the female gender, is created from the circle of the sun symbol and extends downward, to express Basts feminine nature, her role as a protector of women, and a representation of her role in my life as a form of the divine feminine.
The eye of Ra - it faces sideways around the sun symbol, and is used here because of Bast’s role as an Eye of Ra, a protector, and sometimes, a destroyer of the enemies of Ra and the Pharaohs. The Eye of Ra was also considered a protective symbol.
The Sistrum - An instrument Bast is often depicted with, it is upside-down, and is part of how I depicted the eye of Ra symbol as well. I am using it here to represent her later role as a goddess of more lighthearted pleasures, dance, and music.
It’s probably not the best invoking sigil in the world, but I’m still learning!
