Azrael looked down at the expendables. Their right eye now covered to show the other side… their wings bloodied along with their long blackened claw like hand. Despite killing the group, they still felt their eyes watering. They couldn’t help but weep for the dead. They didn’t enjoy losing control, to turn into the monster that Urbanshade created. But it still happens. They need to… for survival. They fall to their knees and take some deep breaths. It always helped them, and eventually, the blackened hand started to return to its original form… not completely, but it was getting there. They sat in-front of the bodies with a guilty expression.

Their sobs were momentarily cut out by the harsh crying of steel beneath immense weight. The skittering of dozens of legs sounded from the shadows of the area, and then, eyes. So many eyes stared at them from the darkened walls, masses of writhing parasites dappling their “Queen.”

They were met face to face with Interitus, his gaze cold and calculating. His tail swayed, stinger coiled inward in a passive manor for now.

Azrael’s eyes widen and they got up on their feet with in-human speed, now tense at the new sight. Their wings flap and widen, as if to make them seem bigger. Azrael stared at Interitus’s tail, seeing the stinger. They attempted to keep calm, but were failing. They attempted to say something, but their words were caught In their throat. So instead, they backed up and bared their fangs. Fear and sadness evident in their face

Dear god… no no no… this isn’t supposed to happen… this can’t happen! WHAT EVEN IS THIS THING!?

They thought to themselves

Interitus’ mandibles pulled back as he mimicked their action, drawing himself up to two legs as well. He was as near 3 times the height of an Expendable. Reverts shifted in an out of his armour plates, some retreating to the walls with their siblings.

Now in better lighting, its carapace was visibly scarred. Slashes, bites, bullets, anything this thing had endured.

“Do not challenge me…”

They make a little face at what it said, and the radio on their hip turned on, someone trying to talk, but they quickly turned it off. Azrael keeps backing up and started to giggle like a maniac… or someone who was insane, but it wasn’t the case. They were just really scared, not only of Interitus, but of themselves.

Challenge!? That’s what you think this is!? He… hehehe… funny! Trust me! I don’t want anyone’s blood on MY HANDS!

They kept giggling, the hand that was blackened trying to transform again, the quickly grabbed it and focused on not transforming.

Interitus stared at them, dropping back down with a loud thump and taking a few steps forward. Its gaze kept dropping to the corpses.

The plates along his back shifted, splitting to tattered wings that vibrated to communicate with its young.

Azrael looked at it in confusion, their laughter dying down. So much for trying to calm down huh? They moved their wings to cover their front, not liking where this was possibly going.

Azrael looked down at the radio again, hopeful, their friend won’t start to worry and look for them, making the whole situation worse if he did.

It paused, then a claw reached forward, hooking into the torn flesh of one of the bodies. It dragged it towards itself, its second set of arms digging into the stomach to gut it. The sound of ripping flesh silenced the chirps and chitters of the reveries around them.

Larvae that had clung themselves to their parent’s back had moved to join their siblings in feasting upon their “stolen” meal. Interitus let them, continuing to stare at the other ahead of it.

It was afraid. He could tell. Why wouldn’t it be?

“What are you doing here.”

… I was following them. Then they tried to attack me… I just wanted to help them…

Azrael said, staring down at the bodies that were being eaten by… larvae. They should be crying, trying to tell it to leave the dead to rest instead of eating, but the first thing they learned here? Everything is for survival. And it doesn’t matter.

It said simply, its wings folding into its back again. It seemed more… passive. Now moving on to the next body

“Don’t give them opportunities to drag you down with them.”

Azrael looked down at the expendables. Their right eye now covered to show the other side… their wings bloodied along with their long blackened claw like hand. Despite killing the group, they still felt their eyes watering. They couldn’t help but weep for the dead. They didn’t enjoy losing control, to turn into the monster that Urbanshade created. But it still happens. They need to… for survival. They fall to their knees and take some deep breaths. It always helped them, and eventually, the blackened hand started to return to its original form… not completely, but it was getting there. They sat in-front of the bodies with a guilty expression.

Their sobs were momentarily cut out by the harsh crying of steel beneath immense weight. The skittering of dozens of legs sounded from the shadows of the area, and then, eyes. So many eyes stared at them from the darkened walls, masses of writhing parasites dappling their “Queen.”

They were met face to face with Interitus, his gaze cold and calculating. His tail swayed, stinger coiled inward in a passive manor for now.

Azrael’s eyes widen and they got up on their feet with in-human speed, now tense at the new sight. Their wings flap and widen, as if to make them seem bigger. Azrael stared at Interitus’s tail, seeing the stinger. They attempted to keep calm, but were failing. They attempted to say something, but their words were caught In their throat. So instead, they backed up and bared their fangs. Fear and sadness evident in their face

Dear god… no no no… this isn’t supposed to happen… this can’t happen! WHAT EVEN IS THIS THING!?

They thought to themselves

Interitus’ mandibles pulled back as he mimicked their action, drawing himself up to two legs as well. He was as near 3 times the height of an Expendable. Reverts shifted in an out of his armour plates, some retreating to the walls with their siblings.

Now in better lighting, its carapace was visibly scarred. Slashes, bites, bullets, anything this thing had endured.

“Do not challenge me…”

[They were waiting for something to happen. Someone appears to be the star of his show, The Audience sends their little drone down to harass them, the little green thing to call for him...]

[Which gave him a thought. Its been a while since he had actually interacted with... Harvey.]

[They sighed, figuring they should probably check in on him.]

[They stood, pushing the chair away from them, then fizzled out of existence.]

[They're version of reality distorts in a different way each time they leave the normal plane of existence and appeared in another, but the deprivation of sensory input always stayed the same. They moved around this little world, heading towards where he remembered Harvey always being. But stopping once realizing Harvey wasnt there.]

[They hummed thoughtfully, trying to think of where he would be now.]

[The show wasnt happening, so Harvey would be there... and now that they thought about it they hadn't seen Harvey on any of the screens in their office. So he must be somewhere Hosts doesnt always keep an eye.]

[Then they remembered what Interitus said.]

[They held back a laugh. Great. Did that insect think it was going to do something to them by using the little green creature?]

[Wonderful. Just utterly joyous. (/sarc)]

[They moved over to where they know Interitus is usually, and low and behold.]

[They appeared in their showrunner form (missing the large coat and hat, and also their sleeves were rolled up), adjusting their height to be taller once more]

"Well I never expected you too to hang out, what a surprise!" [They spoke enthusiastically, pretending they didn't know what was happening, even if they did know. And though they wouldnt admit it, even to themselves... they were horrified...]

"Glad to see all my little peices getting along." [They smiled, clasping their two top hands together, the lower set of arms folding behind them. Then their smile faded.]

Blood dappled the floor ahead of the entity, countless sets of eyes staring back at the Hosts from all directions. Mounds, intricate pillars friend from whatever substance these reveries could create. The location of their “queen” was… unclear, the dim orange lighting from unmatched clutches offering the only lighting in the area.

"Yes Yes the one and only, the man, the myth, the legend, Yours Truly. What do you want?" [They sounded a little annoyed now. After speaking they lowered their head, narrowing their eyes. They also crossed their top two arms]

“Our scores are settled.”

The voice responded too quickly, a calmness rumbling in its tone. Reveries scattered themselves, overtaking other’s places as they readjusted their positions. And yet, Interitus remained hidden.

[One side of their eyes kinda widened, mimicking a raised eyebrow. Then they stifled a laugh]

"Really now?" [They smiled slightly, amused]

[One of their hands grip on their arm tightened ever so slightly.]

"And how exactly is that?"

“I doubt it would concern you. Finding new candidates for your show is… rarely a challenge, hm?”

The voice grew slightly louder, the lighting in the room pulsing momentarily as something skittered past their foot.

"Meh. But also, tip, if you really want to affect someone, you'd have to do better. A LOT better. Because right now, I'm still hungry, and I may or may not enjoy the taste of Reverie." [Their eyes relaxed and their smile widened.]

"And also I'm going to assume you mean Harvey too, with your whole revenge thing. Yeah, do better, that's not going to prevent me from eating the parasites." [They shrugged]

"Actually..." [they reached over and tried grabbing one, holding it out infront of them] "like I mentioned, I am a bit hungry...."

The creature was thrown from their grip, the Hosts instead being met face to face with the hive’s queen.

“You are incapable of such sensations.”

It lacked tone, anger, anything. And… was he bigger now?

"Now what I don't feel, even if I tried, and empathy. As you can tell. Nor care, for other people or entities. So, really, if you want me to stop from picking off each of these delicious, tiny, critters, you'd have to do better to find someone to exact your revenge on. I hope you know this. You're not doing anything by killing that green lil thing."
