I think one thing that pisses me off about criticism about misogyny in the pitt is like. Okay, and?

In the sense that so often the misogyny argument is used to say a character (Robby) is evil and hates women, and it’s all reflective of him as an individual, instead of understanding it as a reflection of the system and society as a whole.

Like. No place is a perfectly politically correct space, it sucks, it should be, but it isn’t. I’ve seen/experienced sexism all the fucking time growing up and still to this day. I’m chronically ill, ive had to fight to get any sort of treatment or investigation.

All this to say is sexism is everywhere, i dont think there is a massive issue with robby, at least not like so many are making it out to be. He doesn’t hate women, it’s all likely unconscious bias that is breaking through more and more as he spirals bc he isnt being logical. And those do need to be addressed. But it all just feels ridiculous to me bc Robby is the product of what society raised - when was the last time you met a 50 year old guy who didn’t hold unconscious biases against women.

I think it’s bizarre that I only got into a few honors classes because my school thought I would be too “overwhelmed” with schoolwork if I got into higher classes because of my performance last year (I was leaving class to cry in bathrooms because I was being bullied by everyone and they did nothing about it) but my old friend who is a complete retard like seriously and caused multiple stay in places because she was having horrible mental breakdowns and meltdowns got invited into a private school because they wanted more “inclusivity” because she’s black. (She didn’t end up going and is now homeschooled because of her extreme mental illnesses)
