My last post on here was some time ago and life has moved on quite a bit!
In 2021 I engaged the services of a cycling coach, Calum, and as a result I cycled harder and further in 2022 raising money for Cure Parkinsons on the way with our ride from Geneva to Nice in July.
More planned for 2023. Aiming for a 70.3 so I do need to get a move on!
Four Days of Juicing
so far and I’m feeling good. I’ve been pretty active too with plenty of swimming, fitness classes and Yoga and there are some signs of that I’ve lost weight.
The only thing that has had an immediate impact on my shakes so far is the massage and reflexology, both of which seem to have a calming effect.
I’ve not done as much running as i thought I would but this has fired me up for the Tri season so more structured training is on its way!
You know it’s working
The detox thing is obviously working, my head hurts and I’ve had to get up at 3 oc in the morning for the loo!
Yesterday was a great first day; I did my first rebound class (a bit hairy given my parky-related balance issues), followed by a quick dip in the river for a 300m dash. After the lunchtime juice we had a fitness session focusing on core, which I can feel now so must have been good, followed by a Yoga session.
Yoga is not my natural thing but I’m going to persevere with at as I’ve read that it helps with breathing difficulties connected with Parkinson’s. I don’t suffer from these yet but just in case ...
