Touch:How do they handle contact? Is their personal bubble big?

I suppose I do have a pretty big personal bubble, especially when I'm out in the market. On the other hand, when I'm home, I have no personal bubble at all--I'll squish and hug Badr and Sin all day long.

Yack: What’s their favorite thing to talk about? What do they go on about?

I admit, I babble on about my family. I could go on for hours about the adorable things that Sin has done recently, or how Badr used to try to win my heart. Why, there was one time he--

Jaded: Do they buy into the “happily ever after” ideal? What’s their standard?

Well, I think I do. I could consider us happily ever after We have a home, and a comfortable (albeit modest) living. Some people call us things because Badr won't go to war, but...but all things considered? I think that counts as a happily ever after. I have my family and my home--happy as a clam at high tide, really.

Question: How often do they feel doubt? What topics are they defensive about?

Well...I've always been a worrywart. I worried about helping to make ends meet when I lived with my parents, and I certainly doubted that my father would let me marry Badr. And...and I have a really bad feeling about the "expatriot" thing. I know I just said I didn't, but...but I'm thinking about it too much, and that's when I start to worry and doubt everything.  That usually only happens once a month or so...in terms of what I get defensive about, everything, if it's One of Those Days.

Fluff: What hits their soft spot? Does anything them into emotional goo?

Oh, good heavens, pretty much anything that my husband or son does will do that  There was one time Sin made Badr make dinner for me and he told him everything he had to do, just like in all the stories he and mommy told. So he was telling Badr that he had to have candles, and carry Mommy ("but you only have one leg daddy so maybe you shouldn't do that you might fall on her"), and whispering so I wouldn't know...ah, I'm turning into a puddle of goo just thinking about it!

"He was a native to Partevia, but soon fled after he brought about the dungeon’s collapse. For quite some time he was a wanted man… though I suppose ‘wanted child’ would be more appropriate. Deemed as a traitor to his country. But as I said before, he did grow up to become the king of the country of Sindria, a haven for the world’s refugees." For now it was best to skip the details, he believed. But this hunch growing within him after she had given her description could no longer be ignored. 

"Ah but where are my manners. I don’t believe I caught your name."

She wasn't sure exactly what to make of this dungeon-Sinbad--but the knowledge that neither Partevia nor Reim was able to claim the power that they sought. reassured her greatly Perhaps the war would end then...maybe it would even be over before her son was old enough to be drafted! Oh, what a relief that would be--for her and her husband. She remembered vividly the tears in his eyes when he'd once whispered,

"I pray our son doesn't have to be a soldier."

But there were more immediate things to think about.

"Esla," she answered, smiling warmly. "My name is Esla."

Due to the number of questions needing addressing Sinbad finally slowed down to a stop, his amber eyes looking over his mother’s so-called weapon before grimacing slightly at the idea of her having to utilize such a thing in case defense was needed. Perhaps…Perhaps something would have to be done about that. If it weren’t for the fact that Judar was here Sinbad wouldn’t have been so concerned, however, since he was the thought of the magi finding out about her left a bad taste in his mouth. 

"Not normally. I was given a wooden sword to mimic father’s." He, of course, broke it but that was besides the point. "You must have had something important to you like it back home. They seem to personalize what gifts every person recieve within the city." Sighing, Sinbad looked away towards an alley that stretched out near them while his hand remained firm upon his mother. Although it felt natural to do so he would admit a part of him was frightened to let her go again. "No…not from what I have seen." Despite how his face twisted slightly in an ill disguised grief Sinbad forced another smile upon his lips. "This place doesn’t seem to have any sort of water near it. It would explain why some sectors seem run down and in poverty due to the lack of trade and resources the sea can give them." Glancing back at his mother Sinbad arched an eyebrow and finally let her go to reach for her paper. 

"I might be able to help you find your way to your place but I can’t say I know where everything is. This city seems to always be changing in some way or another." Ja’far would probably be more helpful at that than Sinbad is. "Ja’far, my advisor I mentioned, he tried to map this place out but it was rather useless in the end." Swallowing Sinbad handed the paper back to her. "You would like him, if you ever get the chance to meet. He is a…ah someone I have worked and been together with and for a long time back home. I must’ve met him not too long after I left Partevia when I was younger." Forcing a smile Sinbad placed his hand on the woman’s shoulder again and began to guide her forward. 

"I’ll help you get settled in your new home and then we can get food. Maybe you can meet Ja’far later." Later as in after Sinbad has assured himself that his mother does not live in a box or with dangerous people.

Esla didn't quite like that face Sinbad was making at the frying pan. A frying pan is a frying pan, for goodness sake, did the thought of her cooking make him that uncomfortable? Unless he remembered her threatening to hit people with it...

Wait.

...He was given a wooden sword like his father's...?

Oh dear. That meant that the scientists probably gave it to her as a means of defending herself.

And in that instant, Esla's entire outlook on the city changed. To say nothing of the lack of water—

“No water? Anywhere?” Was that even possible? How could a city spring up in a place with no harbor or no rivers? "And what do you mean, he tried to make a map but it was useless?”

Breathe, Esla, breathe, she told herself firmly. It wouldn’t do to lose her head. Even if he’d grown up, seeing his mother panic would probably not be good for him.

“I’d like to meet his Ja’far of yours,” she said, deciding to pursue another topic. “Seems you found a good friend. Did you meet him on one of your adventures?” she couldn’t help but ask with a grin.

Sinbad was half tempted to try and argue against his own mother’s accusation, the king clearly being above worrying over something as trifling as age. However, the more he looked at her the younger she seemed to appear - resulting in a somewhat sickening feeling in his stomach as though he was not prepared for such an emotion. 

Older than his own MOTHER.

Shaking his head the monarch tried to look past it - after all there was certainly more important and happier things to attend to. Such as the very fact that she was here - alive! - and he finally had the means and time to take care of her unlike when he was a child. Smiling again at the thought Sinbad guided her away to find a restaurant even while he reached out to take the pain in question from out of her hands. “I don’t think it is really anything to worry about.” Aka Sinbad was not going to tell you it was given to you as a means of defense, mom. The only defense you need here is him - clearly!

"As for why the city looks like this, aah-"

"I have no clue!"

With a stupid grin on his face Sinbad let out a laugh of his own. Sure he might be used to this place by now but there was no denying it still wasn’t the most weirdest city he had ever been to. 

"Even now It doesn’t make any sense. The ground looks like it melted black somehow and the only grass I can find is where there are cracks!"

Such a bizarre. Bizarre. Land. 

"I heard it is called ‘cement’. I believe my advisor could explain in more detail what that is but that conversation might get boring after a few minutes." Hence why he didn’t know. It took only a few seconds into Ja’far’s explanation for Sinbad to start tuning him out.

"Well I don't know why I'd be worried about a frying pan," she said, letting the issue of age go. No point in thinking about it. Who even knew what was true in this weird place? For all she knew Sin could still have been just shy of four. "Do they normally give cooking supplies when you arrive here?" It seemed thoughtful of them. After all, probably her most-used wedding gift was the giant soup pot from Badr's mother. A good frying pan was worth its weight in gold!

But that was neither here nor there.

"No grass?" she repeated, suddenly uncomfortable. On some level she knew that she didn't want to know, but... "What about the sea?"

She'd never been away from her sea in her life.

Now if this strange city were near the sea, she knew she'd grow accustomed to the strange black roads and the tall tall buildings. But if she was away from the sea, everything would only feel a thousand times more foreign.

"You have an advisor?" she asked. "And just where are we going? I still need to find the place on this paper--I think it's where I'm supposed to be staying while I'm here."

She hoped that it was close to Sin. She supposed it was too much to hope that she could stay with her son, at least for a little while.

Anger

She hated getting angry. But she’d long since come to the conclusion that tough luck, Esla—there are untold numbers of nerves in your body and some people manage to get on every. Single. One.

It started as mild annoyance—it usually did. her smile faded to to a mildly unimpressed stare. The mildly unimpressed stare gave way to a small frown. Her brows furrowed. Then came the exasperated sigh, the short, pointed answers—and eventually, she just stopped talking, knowing that if she opened her mouth, she’d either snap or shout. And as refreshing as it usually was to get that off her chest, she didn’t like the guilt that came with losing her temper. Because God forbid that sweet little Esla express displeasure.

She could settle for silent seething until she could rant to someone else.

Oh, so that’s what they meant when they said someone’s blood ran cold.

She was surprised at how literal the description was. She could feel her heart pounding, but it felt as if her blood had just drained from her body. Her limbs were cold, her stomach was cold, and she was rooted to the spot, unable to tear her wide eyes away from the sight before her. Her hands were shaking as she covered her mouth with them. The rest of her was probably shaking too, but she wasn’t paying much attention.

Blood ran cold, indeed.

Nickname(s):  TONS: Tei, Lucius, Lu, Lulu-baby, Ja'mama, and that's not even all of the things I respond to. Various people on Skype call me mom, mommy, mama, and dearling.

Reason for nickname(s): Oh boy, lots of stories. Tei comes from the Aveyond character Tei'jal (or, as it's supposed to be spelled, Te'ijal) and was my namesake on the first forum I joined. TeiRaven. People started calling me Tei and the rest is history.

Lucius, Lu, and Lulu-baby all come from my Lucius blog and the people I met there. At some point in skype, Matthew and Heath started calling me Lu and Legault started calling me Lulu-baby.

Ja'mama is the nickname I acquired from our Mor while we were at a convention over the summer, and I include it here because I think it's awesome that she doesn't recognize me by actual name--you have to clarify "Ja'mama" if you want her to know you mean me XD

Roleplay character(s): In Citta, just Esla. Indie? I have Esla, Lucus of Fire Emblem 7, Rutger of Fire Emblem 6, and Lorazieh of Fire Emblem 9/10, although he's one of those characters that gets mentioned but never seen.

Roleplaying History:Someone on that first forum I joined actually asked me if I'd ever done it. I used to write fanfiction and post it on the site, and one day this guy named Klep asks me if I've ever tried it and if I'd like to. So until I joined tumblr as Lucius, all of my RPing had been strictly characters of my own creation and purely forum-based. I RPed Lucius for about a year and a half until he got so quiet that I made Esla so as to not combust from lack of RP. (You can still go bother Lucius, by all means.)

Advice to RP with me: I'm really quiet, so your best bet is to approach me. I tend to watch people from a distance for a long time before I so much as say hello XD Oftentimes I'm about as clueless as my muse as to who all of these people are because I live under a rock, so please don't take it personally if we're both very skittish.

By now Ja’far could not ignore the feeling that they both seemed to be circling the drain on something rather huge that impacted them both despite the obvious gap of time between them. It was a bit too early to tell what exactly it was… but something was there. 

"Sixteen years ago, at least that’s what it was before I was whisked away to this city." Ja’far almost felt a moment’s hesitation before he continued. 

"Do you… know him?" The way she spoke made it seem like she knew him, so if she really was from the past there was a chance she could have known him from when he was a child. The only question was how. He never recalled seeing her face before, so she must have been a part of his life before Ja’far had attempted to assassinate him all those years ago.

But then…No, that was a horribly ironic thought. She couldn’t be.

Did she know that Sinbad?

Well...probably not.

"Sinbad is the name of my son. He's three and a half and does love hearing adventure stories. Why, just the other day, my husband was  telling him a wild story about mermaids and pirates. Sin insisted he wanted to be a pirate when he grew up...I'm sorry, I'm rambling. I tend to do that when it comes to my family."

"Do you know that Sinbad? The one who conquered the dungeon? Was he from Partevia or Reim? What did he do with his power, was it good?" Wait, she was getting ahead of herself. "I-I'm sorry for that heap of questions. Please continue."

The question of how long it had been forced Sinbad to pause, his amber eyes taking on that guarded and yet depressive look when his thoughts spiraled down a dark and twisted path. 

How long-

Had it been?

Was he older than his own mother now?

The very thought sent chills down Sinbad’s spine. Surely, Surely not, right? The rukh which decided his fate could not be so cruel to a man who danced right upon the edge of cursing it. It could not have been so long that he was older than the very woman who had given birth to him. 

"I’ve been here for a few months."

Wiping the thought from his mind Sinbad pressed on.

"This place is a different world from the one we originated in. It’ll take some getting used to but I’ll be happy to help."

Smiling a bit more naturally a hand was lifted to tentatively touch his mother’s hair before the monarch started beaming. “Let me find you a place to eat and we can sit and talk. You must be tired from having to take all these changes in.” With his arm still hooked around his mother Sinbad stepped back. “And it’ll be easier for me to explain that way.

This place just kept getting weirder and weirder. Months...? Baffling.

"Oh dear, looks like you developed my habit of worrying about my age..." She chuckled and smiled, patting Sinbad on the arm. "I expect you take after your father, though, he hasn't changed a bit over the years."

Eating and talking sounded wonderful, though. She hadn't noticed just how hungry she was. "Oh, that would be wonderful. I do have an awful lot of questions...among them, why do I have a frying pan?" She examined the pan in her hand again. It was a heavy, cast-iron thing. All in all a lovely pan, but she couldn't fathom why it had been given to her when she arrived. "And why does everything look so strange?" She gestured around her at the city. Even the roads were different than the  ones she was used to!
