Yeah...honestly you’re not going to get any positive reactions by singing on the train unless you are looking for tips...and even then it’s a very slim chance. Save your voice for rehearsal. Pretty soon you guys will be on vocal rest anyway.
I can’t just get some rest. That’s not who I am. You of all people know that. I just…yeah. I guess I should try that. I feel like I’ve done everything I can, and now I’m starting to go stir crazy. Take care of me.
I mean, maybe if you listened to your director you wouldn’t be having this issue...but I understand getting a bit restless. I’m on my way. Also, you’re only allowed to call me a bitch to my face.
I don’t know what to do. I just feel so crappy. I’m exhausted, I can’t wake up, my throat is scratchy. I haven’t felt this bad in years, and I’m hoping it just goes away. These rehearsals are stressful enough without me getting a little under the weather.
Get some rest, Kate. You have to stay healthy, not just for the role, but for yourself. It’s easy to get behind on self-care, but you should be taking a ton of vitamins and literally drink a smoothie with immunity powder added to it every morning. I’m pretty sure it’s impossible to get sick if you do it right because I haven’t gotten sick in three years.
MARLEY: Yeah... that's what I was thinking honestly.
MARLEY: Would you be okay if I wanted to go back to the original scene where she's just naked? I know we did all that changing but I think... it'll be nicer to go back.
QUINN: I would be 100% okay with that!
QUINN: And if you end up feeling uncomfortable, that's okay as well.
QUINN: I'd rather test the waters now so that you are confident and comfortable with whatever decision you make.
MARLEY: So... with rehearsals going on and previews coming around before we know it... I’m asking for my castmates opinion.
MARLEY: Should I do the intended Jinx scene naked or should I just wear lingerie. I know I’d be okay with doing both.. preferably doing it the way it’s been written which is naked but I don’t know if that’s selling out too much?
MARLEY: Thoughts?
QUINN: Well, I know we worked it out so that you didn't have to do it. And I'll obviously stand by you if that is your decision.
QUINN: But that being said...
QUINN: There's a level of honesty that comes with the opening scene. Vulnerability. It makes the most sense when she is nude and it also brings a level of fearlessness to Jinx from the very top of the show. I think that the way it is written is incredibly beautiful and I know that you do too.
QUINN: I don't think you should be afraid to do it, but I do understand your hesitation in doing so.
Sometimes a glass of the bubbly helps to open up the creative mind– director to director, sometimes a glass on the job might even help.
I’ve never drank on the job, maybe right before the job though... Honestly, we should happy hour soon because obviously seeing you every day the majority of my day isn’t enough.
Just because you have a day off doesn’t mean you just stop rehearsing. It’s a shame that some people on the subway train can’t appreciate talent when they hear it. I realize it’s just because they’re jealous, but throwing bagels smothered in cream cheese at a young woman is just plain rude.
Good to know you’re keeping up the hard work outside of rehearsal. Even I leave work at work as often as I can. As far as the singing on the subway goes, I’d recommend not doing that...for everyone’s sake.
I probably have been honestly, I just kind of go through the motions of the character without really… feeling them. I think with Jinx it’s more terrifying because she ultimately is so destructive at the same time.
That’s what’s important though. You have to be able to feel it instead of just saying it. I know a place you might want to go to let loose a little. Fuel the inner Jinx and get a little angry. It’s this cool place where you throw glass plates at a wall. I think it could help because in order for you to get into Jinx’s head, you have to understand the angst and the power she has.
Well, I must confess that I do know that feeling. The crippling fear of never accomplishing anything in your life; though mine stems from the crippling fear that everyone in my hometown was right, and I’m never going to do anything with my life. If it helps, I think the show is going to be amazing. You’re doing a great job. Maintaining a social life, while simultaneously working your ass off. That’s real talent.
You don’t have to tell me I’m doing great, I know I am. But yeah, you’re right. Balancing the necessities of a well-functioning human is a lot harder than people make it out to be. I’m starting to think that whoever set the standard was a con-artist...but also a genius because I love a challenge.
Kate rolled her eyes when she was reminded of the rules. “Really? For two minutes you’re going to punish me?” she grumbled with a big frown. Honestly the game had worked. Kat had become more anymore punctual during their time together. Compared to before it es a complete 180. It could be that she was even beginning to gain respect for someone rather than herself. Though she wouldn’t go that far yet, it was a start indeed.
“Who’s to say I’m not wet already?” she asked as she picked up the bottle, looking it over before she took Quinn’s glass and sipped, all the while watching the other with her big brown eyes. “You know, this is your loss too. We all know how obsessed you are.” she teased, before giggling as Quinn’s face melted some, and then came the hands in her pants. She quickly took another sip of the wine before putting t down and wrapping her arms around the woman’s neck again. “Hi.” she whispered sweetly as she leaned in to kiss Quinn slowly for a moment. Their sex was quite drastic. Some days she’d find herself being bent over the first object in the apartment while other times they’d sit sucking each others faces over wine for hours. Kate wasn’t sure which it was going to be tonight but she was excited either way.
She pulled her lips away after a moment, smiling as she reached up to push some of Quinn’s hair behind her ear. “This is the part where I strip, right?” she asked with a big smile as she easily reached down to pull off her shoes first, and then her jacket. She walked away to place both in the foyer. Then, deciding to be a tease, as always, while her back was facing Quinn she took off her tank top, being sure to move slow and show off her bare back before she smiled over her shoulder to Q. “These off too?” she asked, pushing at her jeans.

Quinn smiled softly as she felt Kat move her hair. It was much more romantic than she had anticipated and she couldn’t help but blush a little. And Quinn never blushed. “You’re a quick learner,” she said, referencing Kat’s question about stripping. Quinn knew that Kat was trying to be a tease, and dear god was it working. As hot as it was, Quinn kept her poker face. She enjoyed being the boss, but she knew she wasn’t fooling Katie. “You’re incredibly sexy, Katelyn.” Though she rarely used her full name, Quinn felt that it added a serious tone so that Kat knew she wasn’t just saying things to get laid, but she was genuinely invested in her time.
As Quinn watched her slowly peel off her clothes, she couldn’t help but want to fuck her right then and there, but she showed more self-control than that...though Kat constantly tested her ability to do so. Quinn reached out her hand, sliding it down Kate’s back and landing on the top of her jeans. She tugged slightly at the back belt-loop as she wet her lips. She tugged harder, pulling the blonde against her body again. She then moved Kat’s hair to the side and began kissing on her neck. She knew it was against the no touching rule, but it felt right. Reaching around, Quinn unbuttoned Kat’s jeans while sucking gently on her pulse point. It was unlike Q to want to leave a mark, but Kat made her feel young and possessive. She wanted people to know that she was hers, even though they weren’t anything official...she stopped before it got too dark, knowing she had already done more damage than she should have.
I know it sounds silly because I’ve been portraying Jinx from the very beginning… but I still feel like I’m holding something back almost. If that makes any sense at all.
Who knows, maybe you have been? As hard-working as you are, there’s always something you could improve. So don’t feel like you can’t work with yourself to get to where you want to be. If it totally is wrong for Jinx, I’ll stop you.
Mm, that’s true I suppose. Then again, I can’t really say I got any sleep this weekend either. I ended up taking a few extra shifts for some extra cash. What’s kept you awake for the last three years, then?
Oh you know, just the crippling fear of not accomplishing anything in life and the need to have a social life while working as hard as possible to make sure the first part doesn’t happen.
